How do I make a .vob file from a dvd into a .mpg or .wmv or .avi file

How do you turn a .vob file from a dvd into a playable file format (.avi, .divx, .wmv, .mpg etc...)?

I don't have a video capture card in my computer so is there another way?

I would like to be able to quickly and conviently make vidclips when the opportunity presents itself. 😉 😛

I found a dvd ripper that does the trick. The free unregistered version only does 5 minutes though. 😀

Commercially/Industry made and home-made dvds have VOB files which are video files I believe. DVD Players can read and play the VOB and the audio files on the DVD.

Unfortunately, Windows Movie Maker 2 can't. 🙁
