how do you use the forum?

once you login (if you do), how do you go about searching the forum?

my standard practice is first to check my notifications for new messages or friend requests and handle those. if someone new has sent me a friend request, especially without an intro pm, i pm them and ask what prompted them to add me, since i like to know why folks are on my friends list. i'm not a collector.

then i usually go into my profile statistics and look to see if others have responded to threads i've recently responded to, so i can follow the discussions. depending on the activity, i might respond again or not.

finally, i go to "new posts" and try to get through them.

sometimes i find something i definitely want to respond to and open it in a new tab -- e.g. often the case with TMI Tuesday-- so i can go back to it and it won't be forgotten.

if i see a new clip that looks interesting, i'll stop and watch the clip.

then i finally log off. sometimes i can do this in a short period of time. other times it can take a couple of hours. if i haven't been on very long or want to kill more time, i'll go to the main forum page and start looking at particular forums.

so, do you have a standard process when you visit tmf? do you visit multiple times a day? do you try to stay up-to-date on what's going on via "new posts?"

i rarely start threads, but i am today 🙂 are you a thread-starter? or how about a thread hijacker?

I mostly browse the media sub forums for pics, clips, and TK art. Sometimes I read the stories. Then I look for some interesting discussion or debate for some interactive entertainment.

I respond to any friend requests or pms that may be awaiting me. Then, I check the support group to see if anything's happening. Once that's done, I do a quick flip through GD & TD. If I have time to do site work, I then go to the Gatherings section and whatever other section I'm collecting info from.

My first order of business is usually checking my pms and vms, then any incoming friendship requests I might have.

After those are taken care of I'll check out GD and P&R for new threads and posts. I seldom post in P&R but I like to keep up with whats going on there. I seldom look at clips or check the TD forum. I'm glad they are here, but that's not what keeps me coming back.

As for starting threads, I'm sure some people think I start far too many of them. 😉 I get a kick out of scouring the web for the weird, the bazaar, or things that illustrate the absurdity of life, and passing it on. If you are not intrested, don't read them. 😛

Varies. Recently, would come on to look at the clips and stories, occasionally artwork.

Decided to start posting again, so if there's an interesting thing that deserves my attention I'll post; otherwise I won't. Notifications, PMs, friend requests and so forth are sorted when I can be bothered sorting them.
