How does one....

...go about organizing a munch? I fairly certain it's more than "Let's all meet here, at this time", but I dunno what else.

Any experienced munch organizers have a step by step that you use?

Or are ya'll just not that organized 😉

Step 1 - Pick a time and place that works for you. (A place that won't worry about punctuality is good. If they have a side area/room that you can use if you get a larger turnout, that's always good as well. That way, if folks wander back and forth around the table to chat, they won't disrupt others.)

Step 2 - Post announcements to let folks know...here and maybe on TnF since you're near them.

Step 3 - Go and see who shows.

Most areas start small and build over time. So, don't be disappointed if you only have a few folks. As word spreads and folks know you're serious, more will come. And, quite honestly, I tend to like the smaller ones since I can get to talk with folks more in depth.

The Toronto ones started off with 3 people or so. They've grown considerably in the 3 years they are held. Some people come, some people go, but attendance is now no longer a worry of the host.

In fact, the last two munches we had he ended up with the "deer in the headlights" look at the amazing turnout.

It just needs patience, perseverance and time.

Should one say what the group is for when reserving a place, or just say "need a room for a hobby group of unknown attendance size"?
