How old is too old to shop at AE, Hollister, etc…?

I’m 31 but still get jeans from the same places I did in high school. I’ll admit it feels weird to be the only person in the store that doesn’t have homework due the next day, but I like the jeans a lot more than the "grown up" variety. A friend of mine is 23 and won’t set foot in those places because of the age thing. So out of curiosity is there an age where these stores should be off limits? And btw, its only a jeans thing- I know I’d look like a mega tool in a faux Varsity track hoody.

I don't think age matters, it's about the outfit you're putting together. I find that as I get older I still get some individual pieces from stores geared for a younger crowd (H&M, Hot Topic, etc) and others from stores/sections of stores considered more mature, and put together they look age-appropriate and still fun 🙂

It's all about style, and I don't think standard grown up jeans really hit the trendy spot. There really isn't an age to this stuff anymore. 30 is the new 20.

As long as it's just jeans you're good. Even a polo isn't a biggy. But keep in mind style conscious women will notice. Just stick with the jeans like you said.

Also, as long as you have the $$ to shop there, you are never too old. There's no ageism with green.

Although everyone else made the best points already: wear what you want, just wear it well.

Don't sweat it , gluestick. I'm 34 & still consider myself a 'Claire's Boutique' man.

Having been a beanpole most of my life It was frustrating and embarassing to even shop for clothes because none really fit that well, so I didn't much care where l shopped. Now that I can really fit into jeans and other clothes I buy most stuff "off the shelf" about twice a year unless I need something tailored. And I still mostly don't care.

I shop AE all the time. Didn't know I wasn't supposed to. :ermm:

For an old fart, I still dress sharp. Polo, and Levi`s Dockers are my casual wardrobe of choice.😎 Macys is my favorite store to shop.

That depends. 17 or 18 is probably the oldest you can go wearing shirts that scream Hollister across the chest without leaving a negative impression on people.

Wear what you want, though. If it's just jeans, it's not a big deal. I actually like Hollister and Abercrombie jeans because they're the only ones I can find that fit me right. I can't afford them, but eh.
