How to define ticklishness

I was just sitting here thinking about how much fun it would be to search for the most ticklish woman on the earth but then it occurred to me; how could you possibly measure such a thing?

So, I'll ask you guys and see if I can come to a conclusion. How is ticklishness measured? Is it by what the 'lee feels, or how the 'lee reacts, or some third option that I can't at this moment fathom? I mean, really, are the screamers more ticklish, or just more reactive; is it part of their personality, or is it truly because they are that ticklish?

I'd have to say that the essence of ticklishness is how intensely the lee feels the sensation. I think reaction is irrelevant.

Now it's probably not possible to measure in any useful, comparative way, but if we're just asking what ticklishness is, then I say it's the feeling.

The only way would be to measure brain activity, but there would have to be a research phase before hand to determine exactly what to look for since I don't think it has been looked into quite that deeply.

I also agree with LD. Lees will vary in their ability to "take it stoically" versus laughing and losing it from the start. Given a lees experience level they may be extremely sensitive but also have developed major coping mechanisms. How long a lee stays ticklish is another factor to consider. Of course tickling has its social aspects, so a given lee should be more "ticklish" with friends versus being in a "lab rat" situation. I have wondered if the medical field's methods of measuring pain level or loss of sensation would shed any light on a viable ticklishness measurement system.
