How to give a good foot massage?

Does anyone know of any free well written instructions or perhaps even an instructional video or even just a video that shows one being given?

In lue of all that could anyone who considers themselves skilled at the art of giving one perhaps write a detailed description of how to do it. There are too many sites out there that try and tell you how to do it in about 3 sentences, and that just doesn't really cut it.

I think it would be a great skill to learn, but I really don't have the money to blow on a class.

Be gentle. You want to apply pressure to a small amount, but not so lightly as to tickle.(yea, I said it. Don't tickle.) Start out on the outer edges of the foot near the heel. Press with your thumbs and move upwards, maintaining the force as you go up to the balls of the feet. Repeat this a few times. Rotate the foot on the ankle in a circular motion while supporting the foot with your hand, then press back slightly to extend the foot and loosen the muscles in the ankle. Press on the top of the ankle and rub in small circular motions on the top where the foot meets the leg. Pull the foot down and then push it back up again, rub a little bit, then repeat. This will help work out the stress that builds up in that area. Go back to the balls of the feet and do the same small circular patterns on them. Start at the middle of the and work your way out sideways. Make sure that you take your time and go slow on these steps too. A good massage will take an hour or so to do. You will want to do the small circular motions on the toes and soles too. The soles are more sensitive, so you will want to press slightly lighter on them than you would on the other parts of the feet. If you press too hard it will cause pain. Experiment, and watch her reactions to determine what feels best. It will take some practice, but soon you will get the hang of what she will like and what she wont. Mainly, try and feel what muscles are tight. If it feels tighter than the rest, it is probably sore. If you can't find the sore spots, feel free to ask her. I'm sure she wont' mind telling you.

Thanks. Have a question. When massaging with your thumbs do you use two hands or one?

I'm not sure, not being a professional masseuse, but all of the ones I've seen use two hands, so I'm guessing that's what you'd want.

Dunno, cant give advice or tips, all i know is when i give em ive never gotten a complaint so i guess im doin somethin well?

Just trial and error, unless yer chiropractin the foot, i dont think u can give a bad foot massage

the hollywood brother thinks that you can go to your local independant VHS superstore and you can rent instructional vidoes on this and many other topics of tickling interest. The hollywood brother seems to remember this back in the day before people turned there back on VHS technology

I can give a pretty good (judging from reactions) foot massage using one of my thumbs only. I basically just hold the foot in one hand and rub my thumn in circles over a very small area and just keep changing spots. I get the best reactions at the ball of the foot, below the toes. But ever descripton/every foot massage Ive ever seen is given two hands. I just can't get the coordination/how to hold the foot properly when massinging the sole of the foot with both thumbs.

If anyone could post some detailed instructions that would be great. If you use your own unique method or just have general tips that would be good too
