I just don’t wanna come off as a weird guy

Let the person you're talking to ask you to do specific things with your body and send pictures of them back. For example, someone might ask you to do a peace sign or cross your feet. This is a way for people to know you're a real person and it makes them trust you a little more.
You could also do an audio-only call via Skype or another app.

There's no guarantees though, since most people want to know what the person they plan to meet looks like.
