The guy I've been seeing wants me to tickle him, but I haven't been able to yet. He says I have the right <i>spot</i> but that I'm doing it "wrong." I kind of feel like an idiot lol. I'm that way too in some tickle spots. Half my spots most people don't do it right but they also aren't tickle enthusiasts either.

This sounds like one of those questions a dude posing as a girl asks in order to get other dudes to describe how they would tickle them so they can get their rocks off.
Try having him hold his arms up and tickle him extremely lightly. If it gets too much and he puts his arms down then start tickling him hard and say you will stop when he puts his hands back up. Then do it lightly again. This technique generally drives girls insane. Probably do the same for your boyfriend, but who knows.

Secondly, there's a very easy solution to this, apart from asking him, which he doesn't seem to be able to communicate. I've been watching tickling videos with a focus on technique, lately. There's a video posted by sheersox2007 on YouTube called "James Gets My Feet Again" and this video is fascinating for the sheer range of motions the tickler employs in destroying this lee. Also, toehound's upload "Foot Tickling - Size 13 Male Feet Being Tickled - Part 2," which is just plain out ordinary /fun/ to watch.

But don't underestimate the value of light over hard, slow over fast, and the use of a variety of techniques, many of them viewable online, as well as implements such as the electric toothbrush, feathers and hairbrushes. If he's ticklish, you'll get him laughing.
