Arad talked to The Continuum (website) back stage at Comic-Con International and had this to say about upcoming Marvel films. I only pasted what he said about the Hulk.

* Hulk 2: "We are just waiting for a script," Arad said. "We are going to make another Hulk, absolutely."

Furthermore.. Ang Lee told Taiwanese media that he had been interviewed by so many papers, magazines, TV media, etc., and had to answer the same questions over and over again. When he got bored, he "just joked about getting retired." Looks like Ang Lee has never felt tired about making films but about answering those questions. While talking with German magazine Spiegel, Ang Lee said he "implied" HULK might be his last film.

He said the script of CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON prequel (PRECIOUS SWORD, GOLD HAIRPIN) is not ready and shooting of the HULK sequel will not start until at least 2005.

And being the only guy at the TMF that loved the movie, I just smile and look foward to seeing the big green goliath once more.

To the Hulk movie haters... 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛 😛

Well, I havent seen the Hulk film yet..however I dont think im gonna enjoy it from what I seen previews of and know of it. If ya dont know, im a die hard fan of the TV show with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. I was never into comic books. I think they should do if anything a film based on the show and have Mr Magee back and of corse Lou as Hulk instead of some cheep ass computer bullshit. If your a comic book fan then yea I guess this movie is cool but if your a fan of the show from the late 70s/early 80s then its not gonna be very good..non the less i'll check it out once on video. Also, if ya get the Sci Fi channel..they are doing a Hulk marathon for the next 2 weeks starting Monday at 9am of the good Hulk as I would say lol. Gonna be showing some great episodes (my 2 faves outta the first week being "Like A Brother" and "Alice In Discoland")

I didn't hate it...

I actually enjoyed the Hulk movie. I may have posted one or two mild criticisms, but I enjoyed it. I've been a fan of the Hulk for so long, they'd really have to do a bad job for me not to like it.

I look forward to the sequel as well.

Oh man, you must REALLY be a super-fan of the Hulk! 😱 I've been a die-hard since I was about 4, and I thought the recent film sucked the excrement out of a dead dog's backside. How the hell can someone be such a huge Hulk-fan and it not be me? :cry1:

Well Big Jim, if I remember correctly you are like me with being a main fan of the show right? From what I understand this film is liked by the comic book fans and people that never watched Bixby/Ferrigno. Seeing more and more excerpts from this film it looks more and more ridiculous with that computer cartoon Hulk that looks like a bad acid trip LOL

That is true, but even by the comic book's standards, the film was way too far-fetched. Bullet proof and 16 feet tall? According to the comics the Hulk's dimensions were 7'1" and 1174 lbs. The taking liberties with verisimilitude and the truly terrible computer graphics completely spoiled it for me. Venray was right in his prediction.

Hmmm... Maybe I should go cancel my pre-order of the Hulk movie.

I was a huge fan of the original series, for Heaven's sake, I was a kid. What is a kid to know, except I wanted David to get angry so I could see the Hulk.

Seeing it again as an adult (on the Sci-fi Channel), it was an extreme downer. No true stories, I didn't care as a kid.

I'm the comic book fan you spoke off, loved the comic Hulk much better as I grew older. Now, did I like the fact that Ang Lee used the comic book frames in the movie? No. But did I get over it? Yes.
I loved the concept of making him grow bigger. You can't completely paste the comic book to film. It would be too cheezy.
The X-men didn't have the costumes and Wolvie wasn't short. As a comic fan, it bugged me till I saw it on film.
Spidey having organic web-shooters. Hated the thought but it worked for the film.

The Hulk growing bigger made total sense to me. But anyway, I loved the Movie! Wooo hooo!!!!!

Villians maybe?

Maybe in the second one there will be some Hulk villians I think it would be cool to see the Rhino or the Abomination All though how to explain the Abomination's origon for a modern day setting would be difficult If I remember correctly, the Abomination was a Cold War Soviet version of the Hulk
Or maybe they could just go with a good version of General Zod:devil:

The most classic Hulk bad guy with style on the TV show was Taylor George, was 1 episode only but so classic that he has to be remembered (the episode just got done airing about an hour ago on Sci Fi). The entire episode was just pure humor and great late 70s tough guy stuff. Any Hulk TV fans remember this?

What was the epsidoe called and how did the plot go?

I thought the 1st one was alright... 🙂

The episode was "Like A Brother" where Banner is working at a Car Wash with all black dudes. Banner makes friends with a young kid that has no parents and is trying to raise his little brother on his own and has this Taylor George pimp in the way of everything. It's basicly like "Car Wash" meets "Shaft" and all those type movies in one with Hulk thrown in somehow lol. It's a classic episode for those into the disco era tough guy stuff. This remix service I do things for, me and another DJ colaberated on a Hulk discohouse suite using the music and dilog frops from this episode recently too. If you have this episode in your collection pull it out and watch it and you'll see what I mean about it's basicly priceless and some humor in it. One of my fave Hulk episodes.

That would be very nice. Lou and Jack Colvin would both be willing, I'm sure. Bill Bixby being dead for 10 years is a crimp on an otherwise damn fine plan though. 🙁

I did hear that they were planning a 4th re-union movie. (For those who aren't as sad as me and don't know, the original series had two pilot movies and five series from 1977-1982. There were then three re-union movies in 88,89 and 90.) According to 'sources' it was going to be called "Revenge Of The Incredible Hulk". It would have to have been some hell of a revenge, considering the Hulk was killed in the 1990 film! (Again for those who aren't as sad as me and don't know, the 1990 re-union movie (Death Of the Incredible Hulk) ended with the Hulk being blown up in a private jet and then falling about 1000 feet onto a runway, smashing the tarmac in a 20 foot crater all around. David Banner's girlfriend tearfully squeezed the creature's hand as he morphed back into David and then died about 20 seconds later.)

I know the one. The other bad guy is played by the bloke who played Apollo Creed's trainer in the Rocky films, wasn't he? Tony Burton I think his name is? First Hulk-Out: David is trapped under a car in the car wash, flips out and thrown the engine block through a nearby window. Second: They lock him in a room with a black panther; twenty seconds later, Hulky-baby boots down the door and the panther is cowering under a table.

That episode is one of the ones I have on DVD. I think I might just watch it now. 😀

If you like the disco stuff, then watch episode "Alice In Discoland". As the Hulk is about to change back to David, he becomes transfixed on a spinning disco ball. When David trys to stand up after, he's dizzy. Heh heh.

The TV Show SUCKED the movie ROCKED. God that 70's show hulk was sooooooooooooooo cheesy I couldnt stand it. AND the way he died.PLEASE.

It was quite crap, wasn't it? Personally though, I can't see how anyone could portray a fictional hero of "supernatural" prowess and not encounter some cheese factor. For me the worst bit of cheese in the series was Lou's wig in the two pilot movies. Ugh! lol

I can't for the life of me though see how that could be more cheesy than some of the worst computer generated graphics in the history of celluloid. Ah well, each to his own. 🙂

Id say the wig from the 2 pilots and throughout the first season was just wacked as hell LOL LOL! As the 2nd season came in thats when it started to look a bit better. Also...what was up with no hulk out music until the "Life And Death" episode? Always wondered that.
