I seem to have trapped a nerve in my back, and it's excruciating.

Anyone got any tips on how to ignore it/reduce the pain, before I call work up and tell them I can't come in?

I never had a trapped nerve, per se, but I've thrown my back out a few times.

I'd see a doctor quickly but in the meantime, I'd suggest ibuprofin to lessen the symptoms of pain. Preferrably, more ibuprofin than you generally take just in case.

Here's an idea: go to the fscking doctor. Suffering through back pain in the hope it'll go away is not goo 🙁

I have a Doctors appointment tomorrow; I'll bring it up then.
And I've been taking anti-inflamatories every few hours or so.

Cheers for the advice, guys - I think I'm gonna have to phone up work and tell them I can't work tonight anyway - I can barely stand up and walk about, let alone do things... 😀

Gahhhhhhhhh pulled nerves. 🙁 🙁

Nothing much to do. Feel better. <3

Anti-inflammatories are good. Warm compresses and relaxation are the only other things I can think of. Thrown my back out a lot of times in my youth, but only one was memorable -- so painful I had to choose between standing erect and breathing.

I chose breathing, and I highly recommend it to others.

Call out, relax, see the doctor.
