Perhaps it's only me..

But I was reflecting back on a couple of threads last night, and thinking about a couple of folks I've been building friendships with and had a startling thought..

"Holy shit! They have a tickling fetish too! That's fucking awesome!"

Do you ever completely forget that we all share a kink for tickling, especially after really starting to get to know people and the whole 'tickling talk' is out of the way?

I keep doing that. It's AWESOME! 😀

Yes I do Crystal. After getting to know people and meeting them in person, I find it easy to forget that we share a common interest. Becoming friends means we talk about all different sorts of things and sometimes hook up for anything but tickling. To me it keeps the friendships fresh and interesting.

So often you hear, "well once the tickling is out of the, there isn't much else left to talk about". I think that's what a lot of people who don't try to get to know people better away from here don't realize, is that most of us rarely talk tickling away from the forum. We can, and do from time to time, and the cool thing is that we can, comfortably with each other, but is still completely overshadowed by just general talk. But I agree Jo, it's like when I ask you a question out of the blue like I did the other night that completely reminds me, "wow we're both into this and it's completely ok to ask that, and they know exactly where you are coming from". That level of comfortableness and intimacy with close friends is indescribable. Tis the awesome! 😀

Most people I meet on a daily basis have the potential to be TMF formula. Every day people who share a common interest such as ours.

the bottom line is that we are still people. We can talk about our mutual interests without the looming spectre of a certain fetish getting in our way.

This. I have friends here with whom I love to debate politics, whose art I appreciate and critique, whose original thought I enjoy, folks with whom I laugh, tease and argue utter nonsense, and those who have a quiet contentment about them while just hanging out. I find it very odd that we all should have this one thing in common as well, given how seldom and with how few I actually broach the topic or pursue the activity, but it's what brings us together, and so we have multifaceted folks with whom we can also feel at home in discussing our mutual delight/pasttime/sport/art...

I go to gatherings and such to hang out with my friends -- and play happens, and it's nice. For me, I see it partly as building stronger bonds with the people whose company I already enjoy. But the activity always takes a backseat to the people. As you get integrated among those with whom you belong, tickling fades into a blur of countless other commonalities, leaving your people as one, but your community distinct, and I hope that never changes.
