I hate my headphones.

Okay, how many of you guys know this problem? You get headphones, and you like to play with the cords while you're chillin' cuz you're an idiot like me, and then one of the sides goes out (usually my left, cuz I'm a lefty ) It seems like if I mess around with the cord alot after, I hear it make sounds but then it goes out quickly. ANYBODY KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY!?!?!?!

Heh, I've killed so many headphones doing just that. Sometimes trying to push the cord back in the headphones helps, sometimes pulling on it does. Once it starts to go, however, that's it. My advice: Best Buy, in their headphones section, as a nine dollar set that I buy whenever my old ones break. They usually last about four months or so (Used three times a day for an hour or more each time, accompanied by me abusing the wires 😛), and it isn't a major disaster if they break.

Sometimes jacks get oxidized and they just need cleaning.

Buy cordless headsets. They're more expensive but you can go anywhere in the house and hear the music... without cord hassles.

I think it's cause the jack wears down...all headphones I've had have gotten very picky about being plugged in just right before they'll work.
Luckily I didnt have this problem with my last headphones. I managed to run over the cord with the vacuum and broke it before they stopped working well.

Nah I know it's not the jack...they don't last long enough for me to wear it down lol. In the end, it's always just the right headphone and not the left one. I got another one though. (yay!) But I didn't throw away the last pair just yet...I've got this crazy idea that maybe if I split open the cord and play with the wires inside that I'll fix it.....I'm tired of throwing headphones away. These were a nice pair, too. They had the big comfort thingies....but it's kind of ironic, after I'd wear them for long enough, my ears would start to hurt. Lol. Or maybe I'm just cursed because I listen to music that everyone seems to hate. :weird:

I solved the problem very quickly after I messed up two sets of headphones. I just quit using them and I use the two small speakers that came with my computer instead. I have no problems with them, the sound is fine and I don't waste money on headphones or the bother of having to put up with the cord being in the way all the time.

Wish I could do that, but I'm a night owl (obviously, it's like 4:25 AM lol) and there's people that live with me that aren't.
