I have been on a streak lately!!!!

I was on a huge writing binge this weekend. I wrote 9 poems in 2 days. I decided to share some with all of you. Feedback is welcome.


Life Lessons

To see is to look beyond the horizon at the bigger picture
To hear is to listen with your soul
To taste is to savor life’s morsels, bite by bite
To feel is to touch from the heart with no strings attached
To learn is to have the knowledge that you will never know everything
To live is to realize that tomorrow is not guaranteed. You must do what you can today.
To love is to look beyond the outside and into the soul of another and embrace what is there, as is.

Love is……..

Love is the wind in the falling rain
Love is the peace that heals your pain
Love is the glisten on the fresh-fallen snow
Love is everywhere you go.

Love is patient and love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
Love is free, it has no price
If you believe in Jesus Christ.

Love is enduring, love conquers all
Love will cause Evil to fall
Love is the bridge that Jesus made
When for mankind, His life He gave.

Footprints On My Soul

Your smile beams like a ray of sunlight
Your eyes beckon like a warm caress
Your voice calms me like a gentle rainfall
In the midst of all life’s dreariness.

Your hands, strong and tender
Guide me on my way
They smooth away the frazzles
And get me through the day.

How could I have known
That not so long ago
You’d walk into my life
And leave footprints on my soul.

You And I

Under the rainbow, below the sky
In the moonlight, You and I
Together, in harmony
We dance to the song
That beats from our hearts
In unison.

On the shore, above the tide
Beyond the sunset, You and I
Will sail the waters
To the other side
We’ll no longer have to hide.

Shadows blending in the dark
Cheek to cheek and heart to heart
We will wait no more
But dance straight through
To heaven’s door.

Strokes of pure affection
Make me melt in my desire
They paralyze my body
Like a log upon the fire.

Drops of intuition
Warn me don't go on
But my body's growing restless
And I am not so young.

Don't rush into this
Let us take our time
Just enjoy the moment
and savor Love's sweet wine.

Ecstacy and agony
are a mixed and tangled web
When caught up in the moment
We can't see the shadows overhead.

Sit with me now, love
Let us savor what we can
Together we can wait
For God to reveal His plan.

Seeds of doubt make their way through

I want to walk with you
On the white sands of the sea
But, I need to know

So it begins
This journey of my heart
Where will it end?
When does it start?

I want a man
To see me through
I believe in my heart
That man is You.

How on earth could I be offended? That was beautiful, Crystal 🙂 Surprised maybe, yes, but certainly not offended. You're very gifted

Excellent work. I enjoyed almost everything you wrote.

I did feel distanced by one part of your second poem though. The verse was:

Love is patient and love is kind
Love is yours and love is mine
Love is free, it has no price
If you believe in Jesus Christ.

While I am absolutely sure that you were only expressing your beliefs and love for Jesus Christ and I am also sure that you were not trying to offend or upset anybody, it somehow came across to me that love is free and has no price ONLY if you believe in Jesus Christ. I am a reform Jew and I believe that Jesus was a wonderful man with some incredibly good teachings but I do not accept him as the Messiah.

Having said that, those who know me know that my love comes to them free and unconditional.

I guess that I am sensiive to statements like "That was a very Christian thing to do" because it sounds like you have to be a Christian to do good. I consider myself to be a very kind, caring, respectful man who always strives to make others feel good.

I hope my statements did not cause any offence here as that was not my intention. It is also not my intention to put down Crystal's wonderful poems.

Chrystal, if you evey publish your poems, I would be thrilled to buy a copy of your book.
