I have to get this off my chest

This is basically for TklDuo Ann, whom I love and respect, and she should by no means take this personally.

The last picture in your examples for the Santa contest nearly broke my heart.

O.K. Maybe I'm more sensitive for my own good, but that pic really disturbed me. Double T isn't some tough, macho guy. I get teary eyed at the end of The Wizard of Oz. Movies make me cry, songs make me cry. I'm a crier, and while I didn't come right out bawling when I saw that child's face, my eyes were watering.

Like I said. it's nothing personal, but I just had to vent. I apologize if I've offended you in any way. I guess I'm just terribly sentimental, especially about Christmas, and I was unprepared for such an image.

Does anyone else feel this way? If it's just me, I'll shut up.

DT...***hugs*** No offense taken, ya old softy! 😉 That kinda got me too actually. But, I take it as an illustration of the opposite of what's been done already. The retail industry has effectively killed off the real reason for Christmas and substituted a false one. St. Nicholas is probably weeping at the way he's pictured and especially at the fact that his image takes away from the One he served so faithfully.

I hope you don't think of me as some kind of ogre, Double T, but I laughed my ass off when I saw that picture. Mainly cause it's so horrible I found it funny.
At the same time, I would never want a child to see that pic. And I really do like Christmas and am secure in the knowledge that Santa is alive and kicking.
Even if the real reason for Christmas is to celebrate the greatest birthday of all time.🙂

Thanks, you guys. I feel so much better! And you bring up valid points about the comercialization of Christmas. And yes, as the Sun said "He lives a thousand, nay, a thousand times a thousand years". Yes Virginia and I both believe. And speaking of the Sun, it is to celebrate The Son. A very merry Christmas, to you, Drew and Ann, and all my friends in the community!
