Here is a poem I just wrote today. Wanted to share it with you all. Feedback is always welcome.

I Miss the Old Days

I miss the old days
being young and carefree
We were much more connected
and talked so easily.

I miss the fire
that burned in your heart
You wanted to know me
and hated to part

I miss the kindness
I felt in your soul
Eased inside of me
and vowed to never let go.

I have cried out in passion
I've cried many tears
I've clung to your intrigue
that's drawn me in for years.

But the ice is getting thin
and the tide is getting high
So, with love and deep regret
My heart and I wave good-bye.

thanks isabeau. Glad you liked the poem. I wish the guys thought that way. They're just hard to read, I guess.

Crydun

🙁 Simply beautiful ; and coming from one that has loved & lost by the sound of it.

Sometimes
love is as illusive as a shadow in a well-lit room.
In a final backward glance ,
turning to take my leave
I try to catch a glimpse
of what I was once convinced had existed for no one else
but a quiet community of two.

Maybe I was mistaken.

But NO,
It was THERE.

..it's just not there now.

Crystal, that poem was written with heart and passion. I truly enjoyed reading it. I can relate to that poem whenever I have to part with someone I find special.

Crydun, or should I call you Ms. Dunson, or Crystal? That is a beautiful poem, and you are a talented writer who knows how to put feelings into words. Not all guys hate poetry, trust me. Thanks for sharing it with us. 🙂

Beautiful, Crydun. I can almost hear a string quartet softly playing as I read that. You are truly talented. You've got a wonderful heart and soul.

Thanks to all for your replies!

frankie: I like the string quartet idea!

amk: Thanks! My dream is to put all of my poems(around 70, so far) into a book and get them published. Preferrably by someone who can afford it, like Oprah.

Maj: Thanks friend. Maybe when I go on break and am home more, we can chat more.

giantfan: Thanks for letting me "bend your ear"

lightninbug: You seem like a truly sweet man. I saw your pic. You remind me of Santa!

isabeau: I saw your pic also. Shirley Jones (albeit, a younger version) came to mind

What a Sweet thing to say!
Although I'm not Santa, I am a card carrying Santa's Helper.

Were I Santa himself, I would use All my powers to put a literary publisher in your stocking because you deserve to be Published, darlin'.

bug: awww how sweet. I may write a letter to Oprah over break.

isabeau: Ok Mel, that's a deal. btw, I saw the pic of you and your hubby. You make a great couple.

Crystal,

Thank you for all you do. And above all, thank you for being a friend to me and being so understanding. Thank you also for being willing to lend an ear when I need to express myself to someone. :Kiss2:

Very beautiful poem C. (dont know what to call u since I dont know u). I def understand it and can relate to your emotions and words you put into that. Poetry is an art that goes hand in hand with writing and making music. That would be great to put to the right instrumentation to really bring out the emotion even more in it. Your very talented and big round of applauds to u 🙂

thanks ds. You can call me Cry or Crystal. I'll be a five-year member in April. I don't think people knowing my first name is going to hurt anything at this point.

Giantfan and Maj: Likewise, anytime!

Crydun, absolutely touching poem and you definitely have such passion for writing and expressing your emotion in words 😀

By the way hun, you asked me to remind you sometime about a poem titled"tickleshotel" you wrote? I'd love to see it..
