Starting a eating life style change tomorrow with the hopes of shedding 40 pounds of this body and getting back to a more energetic and healthy JPie. Need to start thinking about running after a toddler at an older mommy age. I want to be able to ski, run, jump and do anything I like with my young children. Plus the fact I will look better and feel better about myself.

Great idea, Judy! Count on support from this direction. I'm doing the same thing, though not to chase kids. 😉 I hear that tickling is good exercise. Maybe we can start our own exercise program at our B&B? lol

Jpie, I am wishing you the best of luck! Keep a positive attitude! Walking is one of the best exercises besides making Love that is 😉 and it's free! My Mom started walking, lost 25 pounds in 2 months only by cutting back on her portions of food, cutting out sweets. At first she could only walk for 30 min without giving out, but she keep on shd did not give up, each week she would walk just a little further until she got up to 2 miles per day, sometimes her and my Dad would walk in the evening after dinner.

I wish you all the best, and I commend you for wanting to do this!

You go girl! It would be a great idea to keep us posted here, since you will have a greater incentive to stay with the programme.

If I may offer a few ideas: Substituting low-cal foods for hi-cal ones works better than just "cutting down"; that is, use frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, etc., etc. Exercise and movement are as important as diet. And if you screw up once in a while, don't worry about it, just try to get back to your programme right away.

I have the problem of needing to gain some weight in order to be at my healthiest, so in a way I can sympathise with your situation.

Go JPie, go JPie!!!! You can do it girl!! Remember to give yourself time, do what you can, and still leave yourself some leeway to have fun during the holidays!

Way to go, woman! I too am trying to get back on the healthy road, after fighting a battle with stress( from work,school, and personal issues) and depression, and a bit of weight gain from meds.( I am alsso the undisputed queen of yo-yo dieting LOL Now the offending meds have been switched, and I've re-dedicated myself to healthier eating patterns and exercise. Trying to get the hubby to follow suit too.. he's on the chunky side, too sedintary, and has a family history of heart disease and diabetes.
Remember, start with the small steps, bigger ones will follow, and when you get depressed ,think not how far you've got to go but how far you've come! 😀 As someone who once weighed over 300 lbs,this is something I'm very familiar with, and if you watn encouragement, ect e-mail me @ [email protected]
