I have a very current and up to date computer. There are no updates avaiable for my software. EVERYTHING IS CURRENT AND NO OTHER UPDATES ARE AVAIABLE!!!!!!!!!!! I havent been able to view andy of the new clips for windows media player, all i get is sound and a longitudinally sctratchy screen. I can almost make out that people are on the screen. Any ideas or suggestions??

Before you convert every file . . .

I had some probs with a number of files, until I realized it was a codec pack I had installed a long time ago (that fixed some problems then) was causing the problem. It was called Nimo Codec Pack. If you have this installed, uninstall it. That cleared up all my problems, and I haven't had one since.

It is probably a DIVx file..
Just go to Divx.com and download thier software.
Then the file should play for you.
