I always heard that if tickled long enough, feet tend to lose some of their extreme ticklishness and become desensitized..But i know that isn't true, at least for someone i know very well..In fact, the more her feet were tickled, the more ticklish they became..Is that pretty much the norm?

My Experiences . . .

If you mean over time, no. During a session, it's possible depending upon chemical reactions in the brain and nerve responses after a certain period of time. But this doesn't happen with everyone. If the person tickling me continues to keep things interesting by using different instruments and bouncing around from toes to balls, to heels to ankles, and from instep to outside sole, I'll be dying the whole time. However, if the person is tickled in the same area, the same way, with the same instrument, then it does wear off. When the brain learns the pattern, it knows what to expect, and the killjoy goes into effect. You go from laughing and kicking, to being able to hold your toes in place and lightly giggling. The key is to keep mixing it up and rotate through different instruments, if you do that. Or play with the feet for a little bit and then move to other areas of the body that are not expecting your tickly attacks. :firedevil Thanks. 😎

From what i understand, the ler used a type of tickling that drove her crazy, and it did not tickle less after time..and he used that same technique for several minutes..thanks for your answer.

I only lose sensitivity if the 'ler is applying too much pressure. If the touch is very light, and goes on for long enough, then my skin starts tingling on it's own. 🙂

For me, getting more sensitive the longer the tickling goes on is one of the payoffs of patience and persistence.

Makes perfect sense to me..thanks for the answer. I'll pass that on to my friend.

Yup, what she said. (i'm forever saying that behind Lindy's posts)

sensitivity

...mine definitly lose it after a preety short time....and that is the only place that does...eveyrwhere else gets more sensitive......but I have not been tickled by a ler....so maybe it is technique

hmmm..... Perhaps you should allow me to conduct this experiment on your feet, my blonde friend.

In general, I think most people become desensitized, but there are a few exceptions. One of the bad things about feet is while they are very ticklish is that they desensitize very quickly.

I`m with Tkl_Toolz_Queen!

Variation seems to be the key to me. After a while, I can take continuous tickling in the same place with the same pressure. But if you vary the location, instruments, and pressure/intensity,I`ll soon be begging for mercy! :2poke:

Aww. You too, Knox! :twohugs:

Let's raise a glass to all the 'lees who reward the subtle ministrations of a talented 'ler! :cool2:

my friend must be the exception then..because her feet became even more ticklish..i suppose it all depends on again what techniques are being used on the lee..

sometimes

One time I tickled the feet of a female friend who was extremely ticklish on her feet. As I tickled her feet, she laughed and curled her toes. After tickling her feet for a minute, her reactions stopped. But her ticklishness did come back after a while. By the way, her feet were beautiful!

As anyone who has seen my hour long foot tickling video can tell you, my feet definitely do NOT lose sensitivity over time. That video was just over an hour in length of nothing but foot tickling, and my feet were every bit as hyper ticklish at the end as they were in the beginning.

They USED to get desensitized to touch when tickled for long periods, but that doesn't happen anymore. How I long for the days they did, though!

Why do you think that's changed? I have never heard of that happening.

I thought at some point they did too, but mine seem to be just as ticklish at the first light touch as the last flutter.. Technique and variety definitely heighten the intensity, but as one Ler claims that tickling my feet are almost like playing a musical instrument , the low hums, giggles to the squealing high pitch contagious laughter and then the middle ground where it is laughter but not my loudest...

It's because I developed a mild case of neuropathy that causes extreme sensitivity of my lower legs and feet. So along with that came the loss of desensitizing after a while when my feet are tickled. I used to go barefoot all the time too, and now I never can...I must always wear socks, for even soft carpet can irritate my feet. It's a bit annoying for me, but a dream come true for foot guys like Laz.

well ok i admit..i made the friend part up..it's myself who never lost sensitivity during a session ..and i was surprised as hell..and given the fact i'm not exactly a spring chicken anymore i thought that one was less ticklish as one grew uh a bit older..but nope not the case whatsoever..in fact the ler in question was BikerBadBoy..
