I just saw something on the evening news.In 1915,a British soldier wrote his loved one a post card to let her know he was doing ok.It never arrived for some reason.The young man returned from the war and married his sweetheart.

92 years later,the British Postal Service delivered the card to a daughter of the couple.Makes you wonder where that card had been all these years,and how they ever found the daughter,who is no youngster herself.That would make a nice family heirloom i think....

Well, it's good to know that the British mail system sucks as badly as ours.

Granted, it has only been two months since I got my last bank statement. Maybe, if I keep my mouth shut, it'll arrive sometime in 2028, and I can sell it on eBay.

Of course, the value might depreciate if others who do businees with my bank get the same idea.

It's all good. If that dosen't pan out, then I can fall back on plan B: There has to be at least ONE person who is willing to buy a jar of "cured" horse radish that has been sitting in the back of my fridge. A living monument to history. Just think of the things it has seen...

The bidding will start five years from now and I'll expect no less than two hundred bucks for starters...

This offers hope for me...

Back after we moved to New Jersey, when I was 14, I wrote a poignant, if totally embarrassing love letter to a girl in my old neighborhood, who didn't know about my feelings for her. We never had contact after I moved...and now I have a glimmering hope that it never made it there...

Every time I think about that letter (albeit infrequently), I shudder
