I Want An Avatar!!!!

Hey can someone make me a cool metal Avatar like Iron Maidens Eddie or even better a Judas Priest one? Black Sabbath, Dio, King Diamond all acceptable. Also a Linda Blair possessed Exorcist one would be nice. Help a girl out huh? :weird:

awww you're welcome! I'd like to take credit but I really didnt do much more than crop the pic, make it little, and add a vignette. 😛
Go into User CP and you should find the place to add an avatar pretty easily 🙂

Oh theres actually cool avs there already but I dont want to make Ness feel bad for getting me that cool Regan Av. Well ill keep it on file in case I get bored of my current av. I wanted one thats a bit more feminine now that I think about it. Sorry Ness. Youre still aces in my book! Great movie if ya havent seen it! The first and the 3rd...both written by William Peter Blatty. :camera:

I've been wondering how to add avatar-type things to my system too, but felt too self-conscious to ask. :redface:

Thanks to you ness,, for your reply. It helped more than Melissa83. One thing though: while Tickletheatre offers a fine array of available avatar options, I found that if one wants to add one's own it can't be more than about 2kb. Luckily i had an image i liked. But I was just wondering if there is a trick to adding the stuff you put on the bottom of your posts?

To add pics to your signature you need to have them hosted someplace that allows remote image hosting. I use smartgroups.com.
TT just asks that signature pics not be over 35k or too big in size. 😛

Once an image is hosted on a site that allows hotlinking, you will need to copy the URL of the image and enter it in the signature box between two IMG tags, as follows:

[IMG]<--URL of remote image-->[/IMG]

I should clarify that my instructions for using IMG tags were only for signature pics. For an avatar, you only need enter the remote image's URL in the designated space, without IMG tags, or you can upload an image from your hard drive using the "browse" button. The maximum avatar size is 64x64 pixels or 19.5 kB, whichever is smaller, but signatures can be somewhat larger.

There is no "Upload"- or "Browse"-button in my avatar-menue !

Are avatars limited to users with a minimum of posts
or other restrictions ?

I want to upload an avatar, but the menue doesn't give a chance !

Can somebody help ?

Yes, you need at least 10 posts to be able to add an avatar or custom signature, but you're already more than halfway there 🙂

It's so interesting to observe this discussion!

I remember when i first joined spending quite some time trying to organise an avie. Finally i was about to ask on a thread when i discovered somewhere in the joining instructions that there was this 10 post minimum.:redface:
Anyway, no sooner had i discovered this and put my frantic searching to rest than someone started this thread.

It was too ironic! speaking personally.

The good news, Kevin, is that you have just a couple more posts to go!

Personally I don't much like the 10-post minimum for an avatar, but it seems to be a standard requirement at many forums, including non-fetish boards.
