Who would you want to see as the cast I mean in my opinion Chuck Norris should play Luke definately, he could do the sword fighting.
I know he says he is not but lets face it Episode three made over 50 million in one day so it makes you wonder if the fans are not tell Lucas to make another Star Wars film, if the movie breaks any more records he has to consider it at least, especially since there is from what I understand a story of episodes 7-9 they will just supposedly never be seen on film.

Let's hope that he would write better dialogue for Episode 7.... Lucas is kind of the opposite of Kevin Smith. Smith writes excellent dialogue (most of the time), but he's never been that great at making grand storylines. Lucas can't write dialogue worth a damn, but he's great at constructing long storylines and impressive action scenes.

Didn't the empire get defeated at the end of episode six? Surely the only people left to fight would be isolated pockets of Imperials.

The death star was destroyed and the emperor killed, thats not the same as the defeat of the empire. There are dozens of books about the after events, and it takes around 15 years to finally make peace with the Empire. If they were ever going to make 7-9 I wish they would base them off of Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire Triology.

I think Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy is what we might consider Episodes VII-IX. That's why there won't be any more; they already exist. Ignore people who say that the studios will pressure Lucas into making more. Lucas IS the studio! Lucasfilm is HIS company, and he has said explicitly that he is not making anymore.

There will be NO Episode VII.

He'll probably stick to revising, re-editing and re-releasing the six he's made every 10 years or so, with new special effects. He just can't seem to let them go.

If Lucas is looking to continue the story as is, then its best to pick up where Return of the Jedi left off with the reversal of roles (that being the Empire being in the situation the Alliance was and the Alliance being in the situation the Empire was).

Empire Rising and Dark Empire are good novels to build up at least 1 of the next episodes from. Some people may have already had enough of Palpatine, but in truth he's not dead, as we know.

I think if Lucas is wanting to continue or finish off Luke, Leia, and Han's history that he should start here. It won't be hard for people to accept the transition because it feels right and smooth and along a sound timeline thats reasonable and not farfetched. Its not some random event or galactic perspective which through whats been done with Star Wars and what its been about, is up in the air.

This gives Lucas the chance to introduce characters like Thrawn and Daala as villians and that would be nice substitutes for Palpatine. If the Palpatine story arc is finished first, then that would allow the main villians of the later episodes to be the Yuuzhan Vong.
