if you were to become famous/public person, would you give it all up?

No, I wouldnt, because what I do in my bedroom would have nothing to do with my fame. Giving this up with be the same thing as giving up any other fetish, ie feet, etc, or a sexual orientation, such as being bi sexual, or gay. Sexual fetishes or orientation would have no relavance, so there would be no reason or need to give it up.

Risk? Say what!? We're talking about celebrity status. You know, the type of people that can do all manner of illegal drugs without recourse. The ones who can use their fame as capital enough to buy their way out of a jam.

As a celebrity, you can do stupid crap in public without much penalty, so what you do in your bedroom is pretty much safe from anyone's judgement. If anything, such a status would only enable someone to have even more fun with any particular fetish.

I will reincarnate as a dog and ride 2 skateboards.

I want to become famous because of my tickling. So I sign autographs with the "wrong" end of the quill pen, so what? The world certainly needs more laughter these days.We seem to have more and more people who are simply famous for being famous or infamous. Celebrity is the goal, without bothering to really achieve anything first. Fake it till you make it? No thanks, I'll just fake it. The net allows us all a stage to showcase our deeds and words. Some peoples 15 minutes of fame seem like watching paint dry.

It's really no one buisness what I do in the bedroom.

HOWEVER,

If I were tickled in public by my husband/boyfriend and I've already established my fame, and someone asked about it if they had just witnessed it in public, I would hint that I don't mind it when I'm tickled and wink at them and sign an autograph. 😉

My only concern would be potentially outing other people. I really wouldn't care if the whole world knew about me. I'm not gonna go telling people, but if it comes out it comes out.

I can go on. It depends on what kind of celebrity, what you represent to the masses. Your public persona/image.

If you're a celebrity you can be even more easily destroyed by what you do in the bedroom no matter how much money you have. It'd be stupid to believe your private life is truly private. Why? Because you have much, much more to lose than just some random dude on the street does. More money, more of a reputation to uphold or continue to portray whether false, played up, or not. More people to answer to. The average Joe has his family and maybe his boss and co-workers to answer to. Maybe even the neighborhood he lives in.

A celebrity has an entourage of agents, publicists, managers, lawyers, fans, producers, studios, record labels, etc. to answer to. They are owned. They are property and not much else.

Their reputations and likability or dislike-ability in some cases are what sell. They're everything is enlarged under the microscope of the world thanks to gossip rags and the Internet. Because millions more people give a shit and will judge you, try and make money off you, destroy you out of jealously, power trips, extortion or simply because they don't like you.

Rant over.

To answer the OP, if I personally suddenly became a celebrity, like Glam said it isn't possible to give up a fetish. But the way in which I satisfied it or discussed it would certainly be altered for reasons of protection extending to myself to those I care about.

So yes. Things would be given up.

Enrique Iglesias and Quentin Tarantino are notorious for having a foot fetish, and as far as I know it has never tarnished their image.

I say it's better to keep it to yourself if you're constantly in the public's eye. Depending on your level of stardom, the media thrives off tearing down larger-than-life personalities. The less people know about your private life, the better off you are.

Yes, I'd leave the community. Seeing the bloodlust in the tabloids it's best to show no weakness for them to exploit.

My only concern would be potentially outing other people.

I have the same feeling. But what would be worse is after meeting all these wonderful people at a gathering or at NEST and then suddenly becoming papparazzi famous and having my every public move filmed, I couldn't attend any gathering without fear of my friends being exposed to the same scutiny thus also being outed to their family or employers. So I guess I would alter or at least curb my tickling fetish if this were the case.
