I'm kinda wondering...what would happen if...

...the 4 largest threads in this part of the forum got deleted? As of 5/23/03, at 1045pm Eastern Time, they are as follows (in order of number of replies):

1. The One Word Game (5,445 replies)
2. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer game 😀 (1,222 replies)
3. The Alphabet "I Am" game (1,148 replies)
4. The Self Referential Thread (1,023 replies)

Imagine, if you will, how that would affect the number of posts that a lot of people have accumulated by constantly replying to these threads. A lot of people have achieved "feathers" as a result. I wonder, if these 4 posts were to be removed from the TMF, how many people would lose their "feather" statuses (or whatever it's called)...?

Deleting those nonsense threads would make some people very sad, and others very happy. I'm afraid that the vast majority would be indifferent on this matter.

gee, I have been on the forum more then 2 years and still have not achieved a feather. I only post when I want to really say something and occasionally to the silly threads. Do I really need a feather? Most people here know who I am even though I don't stand out as some of the others.

My - my... what an interesting concept, Doc! Well, for one thing, I'd no longer have to come to attention and salute when HewhoDoesSheep comes into the forum.

As for my status, nothing would change. After all I've not yet earned a feather. (Why no, I'm not envious, why do you ask?)

Actually, I have a great deal of fun playing with HippyDippySnippy's signature. If his status as a feather-owner keeps him hanging around, I say it's no big deal.
