Interesting Law in Virginia involving tickling

I am a political science major in college so while researching laws of states I came across many sites of Dumb Laws. I pray there is no men from Virginia here. According to the law book in Virginia it is illegal to tickle women. Well I guess I can rule out a transfer to UV and VCU. Also in Maine it is illegal for a man to tickle a women under a chin with a featherduster. What the heck? Seriously? Why do we keep electing officals who make laws such as these?

On the plus side,most laws like this are leftovers from the 18th century and most officials have forgotten they ever existed,let along enforced them.

Some of these laws are such bogus bullshit. What are they going to do, install cameras in every house in Virginia to make sure a man doesnt tickle a woman. Also, how many women, except in cases of assault, who know the person tickling them, especially if it's in a romantic relationship, are actually going to press charges against the tickler? I say to the Virginia law, FUNGU! This is a law that will never be enforced, and it is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I have also heard of states where Anal sex is illegal. What are the cops going to do, bust down the doors to homes of every hetrosexual couple into anal sex, or homosexual male couple engaging in anal sex? It is a bogus, bullshit law, and can never be enforced.

He is telling the truth; it is still on the books it just isnt enforced. Oral sex is illegal, so is doggy style and anal. And recently, a law passed where if your pants sagged too low you could receive a 50 dollar fine.

We arent a state, we are a commonwealth. So laws can be pretty much passed at will that involve censorship and sex.

Cameras, Mitchell...no. But if you are caught in the act of illegal sexual acts you can (and more than likely will) go to jail for a small time or pay a fee. Interestingly enough, with the exception of New York, we are the murder capital of the US (and actually eclipsed New York one year to be number one). The state of VA just doesnt advertise that in the tourism brochures. The police are too busy investigating homicides and murder one's to bust anyone for sex crimes involving willing participants.

Could somebody please provide me with the citation to whatever law forbids tickling in Virginia? I've looked for it and I just can't find it. As for the "sagging pants" bill, it was (thankfully) killed by the state Senate.

That law against tickling a woman is only in the town of Norton, VA. Way back in the '80's I actually contacted the Norton town clown in reference to this law. He'd never heard of it. He described it as "tweaking" a woman. It must be some kinda seriously old law, and hopefully is not enforced.

I just thought I'd share it with you guys. I'm a Political Science Major and I always read up on laws to gain a possible edge on the cops espically where I live becasue I can't walk down the street without a cop asking me if I'm a dope pusher!! In Nevada it is legal to own a nuclear weapon you just can't detonate it. In California its a $50 dollar fine for detonating a nuclear weapon. Its illegal in New York to call your son a "queer" to stop girly behavior. Just thought I'd share that with you.

My question is, where does the law stand on tickling men. That could lead to an interesting story idea. Virginia almost sounds like a Reverce Kittle town to me. Laws likw this are normaly passed for a reaon, if it is a realy old law it's probably because some clown was abusing women trough tickling. Maybe a tickling bandit of some sort 😉.

Some laws are just so stupid no cop even knows it or cares to enforce it, and some laws are just unenforcable like jaywalking and underage drinking (to a certain extinct, can't arrest 22 under-21-year-olds).
