Well.... I am very ticklish and I love to be tickled, but.. I am embaresed if someone tickles me and somebody is aroud; and I am not even able to talk about tickling.

May it be connected with a fact that in my childhood I have seen that other people get tickled but almost never I was the tickled one.

I agree that one's attitude toward tickling can have a connection with childhood; it's a popular theory that most sexual fetishes/paraphilias/proclivities have their roots in our development stages.

For me, tickling was a very playful interaction with the girls in my class, sort of my earliest exposure to flirting, and probably the two became inextricably intertwined in my pscyhe.

As for getting embarassed about it, you're probably not alone their either. This has been addressed and I think it's common for many of us - myself included - to feel a bit bashful when tickling comes up, as though you're having a noticeable reaction that everyone picks up on. But I think 99% of the time, that's all in your head.

Absolutely. With some exceptions, most of the folks with whom I've corresponded on this topic admit their tickling fetish is directly related to childhood experiences. Mine definitely is.

I was always held down and tickled on my feet by my family members. So for me yes definatley my tickling fantasies and fetish didstem from my childhood.

I agree that it is connected.

I was never tickled as a child (and never am now 🙁 ) so for a long time i was uncomfortable with it, even with friends. I refused to even say the word 'tickle'!

Now i would never, ever bring up tickling with my family, but i do with my friends, and i just recently started doing so.

Well Mona I know how you feel and I do think there's a connection with an attitude with tickling beginning at a young age. I usually when I was growing up the person who watched someone else being tickled. I didn't really get tickled a lot until college. So I feel like you. I would be embarrassed basically in two situations like if I were tickled in public or if I were tickled in front of other people unless I was tickled at NEST.

I agree with your childhood affecting your love or hatred of being tickled. It was always playful for me, so I love it.

I know a few people that tickling was used as a form of violence, for want of a better term. You know the older brother pins down his little sister and tickles her to within an inch of totally losing her breath or they're tickled just to get on their nerves. The experience was never a positive one. So these people always seem to be shocked at the notion someone can like being tickled.

Just my two pennies.
