Is it me or is today's gene pool so much better!

I'm 44 Years old (soon to be 45 in January),and I've spend my 21 year working life in the Television Industry.Over those years I've been fortunate to see alot of programming such as Movie Press Kits,Rough Promos,Feature Films,TV Programs & Commercials.
Alot of time my colleages and I are viewing the new crop of female stars and starlets and often saying:"Is the gene pool so much better over the last 15-20 Years that their are so many beautiful teens and twentysomethings out there"!? Many is a time that my peers say Boy! they didn't make them like that when I was at school!"
Is it that the clothing today makes them more enticing (ie. exposed midriffs,perfect teeth,etc)...
....or is it because I might be a dirty old fortysomething!? 😕

For instance:Today we got a promo spot in featuring new 17 year old singing sensation Joss Stone.What a beautiful young lady!(Nice body,beautiful face,eyes, and giggling smile [when she flubs a take].
And Yes...I've already wondered if she's ticklish).I'm sure it's only a matter of time,(next year),before we'll be discussing her,along with tennis star Maria Sharapova,and actress Mika Boorem in the many forums here.Yes, A new crop of legal young ladies,their young bodies and fresh pairs of feet to oogle!
But it's not just the up and comers but the ones who are 19 to early 20's.The Amanda Bynes's,Rachel Bostons,Anna Kournakovas,Lindsay Lohans and so on.

So,I'm asking:Is it really the gene pool or am I seeing these young ladies through 44 year old eyes!?

I also don't think they had tanning beds back then either... I swear 75 percent of teen girls use them these days. If not the beds then the self tanners.

Cosmetic surgery is much more prevalent now than when I was a teenager.

I used to wonder if the pot that was smoked in the 60s and 70s had some effect on the smoker's offspring later on in life...then I realized that even my non-pot smoking friends were giving birth to future 'supermodels'.

I know that if today's acne creams and haircare products were available to me back in the 70s, as well as the hairstyles, I may have been far better looking than I was. Maybe the girls of today have perfected their make-up applying skills...they are learning about sex appeal at a lot earlier age than they did when I was growing up.

Its a combination of things, most girls you will see come in for TV stuff will have had Braces on their teeth, an image consultant to make sure their hair is just right and current, showing a little belly or short-short doesn't hurt either.

Plus today's makeup can cover anything up AND tanners(self or tan bed) just makes the skin look more healthy...

Rachel Welch. Sophia Loren. Barbara Bach. Lynda Carter. Ginger Rogers. Katherine Hepburn. Veronica Lake. Maureen O'Hara. I'm sure there are nodding heads out there, ticking off the ones that I haven't mentioned, too... every generation has it's goddesses, and frankly, I think that with all the cosmetic surgery and skin showing, we're losing something. But beauty will always lie in the eyes of the beholder, so no one can tell someone else the definitive absolute idea of what's hot and what's not. Sure, all these little barbie dolls are cute these days, but have they got an iota of the sex appeal of the feminine stars of even 20 years ago? Much less back in the 40's and 50's, when you HAD to be all that and a bag of chips to carry off the sex appeal, because they COULDN'T leave nothing to the imagination like the tramps today can.
