Is Jeter a Yankee in 2011?

I know it seems ridiculous to think that Jeter would be anything but a Yankee, but the negotiations seem to be taking a really ugly turn. He wants way too much for way too long-term of a deal. He's getting older, his numbers are likely going to decline and he's not worth what he feels he deserves. The Yankees aren't going to give him what he wants and it seems like he's not taking it well. He recently expressed "anger" for the negotiations being publicized by the Yankee organization, and it seems like the organization is doing a great job of making him out to be a greedy, self-absorbed person (which he and most athletes likely are).

It sounds idiotic to say he may not be a Yankee in the end, but if things go bad you just never know. I think eventually they settle on something, but his image is really getting tarnished and he looks more greedy and arrogant by the day.

He'll be wearing pinstrips next year cause no one is even close to giving him what he wants, but with that said only the Yankees will over pay him for a 3 or 4 year deal. What sucks for him is in the end he'll come back with his tail between his legs and re-sign and then look for a big attitude change from him.

I think that's what's going to happen. Some players just can't accept that they aren't in their 20's anymore and think they deserve ridiculous salaries at the end of their careers. He is definitely going to wind up being humbled by this, because I think he figured he could scare the Yankees by getting big offers elsewhere. Who wants to pay an insane salary to an aging 36 year old shortstop coming off his worst season of his career?

I think Jeter will be a Yankee in 2011. I don't think he will be humbled too much or have an attitude change. He's too professional for that. I think he and his agent used the 'car sale ploy' where you always ask more than what you really want. That way when negotiations settle you end up getting what you originally thought the deal was worth. Jeter isn't stupid. He more than realizes yes, he is over 35 and his stats do not lie.

He will be a Yankee in 2011.

Jeter is a douchbag...he's way over paid. He plays a flippin' game, and makes more than any of the actual hard working people in this country do, which is bullcrap.

So do actors and actresses, but we still pay to go watch them.
