Is March the least favorite month for anyone else?

I don't know what it is about the month of March, but it is by far my least favorite month of the year. The months of November and December are cold and the days get shorter, but the holiday season seems to make them fly by. January and February are cold and exhausting as well, but you expect those months to suck so it doesn't come as a shocker when it's 20 degrees out and snowing. Then we come to March. The last month of winter, the first month of spring, the month when the clocks are pushed forward. Sounds great, except that March is a total tease. It's like the girl that flirts with you and then gives you a fake number.

You get those gorgeous days in the 60s with the sun shining and start to feel spring in the air. Then just as quickly as the nice weather comes in, it disappears and you wake up feeling like you're back in February. You go from 3 days in the 60's to looking at 10 straight days of low 40's and high 30's, with the chance of snow showers. Every year it gets me, and every year it reinforces why it is by far my least favorite month of the year.

I hate this month because it's a fight between winter and spring, and as the snow melts, my driveway turns into a mud pit. It's too goddamn wet and it sucks.

Nah, I kinda enjoy March actually. February is the worst for me. Everything about it is annoying. It's even difficult to pronounce and spell! You never know if there are 28 or 29 days in the month. It's always friggin cold out. :shivering: There is not much going on in the sports world. Not to mention you have that stupid holiday on the 14th of the month.

Hard to hate my birth month and the month in which we celebrate the Irish... Kinda sad to see winter go, though.

I guess it really all depends where you live. Up here in the northeast, or in the north central, it just feels like you get teased with spring, then it jumps back to freezing temperatures. Almost like mother nature is mocking you and liking it 🙂

If you live down south or the southwest, it's been in the 70s for like a month now and all the leaves and flowers are starting to bloom. I was in Alabama two years ago in mid-March and there was already flowers on the trees. I can see how march is not bad in certain parts of the country.

I like march, on account of my birthday being this month! 😀
I can imagine that my love of march will decrease as my age increases, though...

The first two weeks of March we had unseasonably cold weather (for Austin). That seems to have passed but its been cloudy every day. I'm sick of it, and find it depressing. March can be a fickle critter, no doubt.

Exactly! The other winter months I just expect terrible weather. March is one of those months that can be really nice, really bad, or a mix. When it comes in nice it gets your hopes up. Then spring quickly turns back to winter and you start wondering how long it will be before warmer weather comes and actually stays.

I don't mind the tail end of March as I view it like people view Thursdays as "weekend warm-up day". Spring is right around the corner and with spring comes milder temperatures and with the very windy winter we've had up here I'm not mad to see winter move along. The month I used to dislike the most was August because it was the last kick at the can for summer fun but now it has be'en replaced by end of January/early February when the winter is just in the prime of kicking my ass and there isn't relief in sight...

March isn't too bad, my Spring Break is always during March and once the month is over my birthday is at the beginning of April 😀. I think I dislike February the most....very bleak month!

I view September as probably my 2nd least favorite month, although it could very well be a tie with March. September, to me, symbolizes that beginning of the end for so many things. The leaves start to turn and fall, the days are getting much noticeably shorter, the air is getting cooler. Worst of all, you know that it's gonna get a hell of a lot worse before it gets better in 6 or 7 long months away.

September, to me, is like Sunday. It's the last little bit of enjoyment coming to a close as the dreaded work week begins.

March have never been anything special for me...
But I guess it will mean "soon NEST month" from now 😛

Here, September is usually as hot and miserable as July or August. We seldom get any relief until October. I do hate it when the daylight starts getting shorter though. And Fall colors are largely unknown in Austin. I do miss that. It is all a trade-off.

I'd glady trade Texas weather for Massachusetts weather. I could be mowing my lawn in December 🙂

I was born and raised in Kansas, and I don't miss the winters there at all. That said, summer here can be brutal. When I was younger it didn't bother me as much as it does now. But the worst of it only lasts four months or so. To me it is worth it.

I suppose the most idea weather is probably in like the lower parts of Virginia or North Carolina. It gets hot in the summer, but the winters are shorter and much more mild. Plus, you still get a fall season.

I LOVE March! 😀

Its a big birthday month for some very special people in my life (hi Angel 😛) and it means Easter and my birthday is around the corner... bring on spring! :boogie:

Oh, Fall can be spectacular here, minus the changing leaves, and that can often be found a short drive from Austin. The Fall season here typically features moderate temperatures, low humidity and brilliant blue skies. I would say the same of the Spring season, which is just around the corner. 😀

But you know, "ideal" weather is really a subjective thing. I know people who love the snow and cold of winter. I happen to think such people are crazy. 😛

I like winter even less since I slipped on the ice and broke my ankle this year.

Oh yea, and as for why I HATE march.............. It was in the 60's last week, and now we are getting 2-4 inches of snow tonight. The temperature is not expected to reach out of the 30's for a high in the next 5-day forecast.

January is the worst month of the year, the temperature is always below 0 and there's more snow than people.
