Is there a Terrell Owens / Chad Johnson Double Standard?

It seems to me that there's a bit of a double standard as far as Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson go.

Chad Johnson last night after scoring a touchdown, ran to the side lines and put a Hall Of Fame replica jacket that said on the back H.O.F Chad Johnson 20??, this of course is following pre-season when he was screwing around with the first down marker, and messing with Carson Palmer during a interview and everyone thought that it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen.

So let me get this straight, for Chad Johnson it's okay he's just having fun, but if Terrell Owens does these sort of things and he's the worst thing that ever happened to football?

Doesn't seem fair to me 😕

I'm not a fan of either player, but then again, I'm not enthusiastic about any of the wide receivers in the league who have enormous egos and like to call attention to themselves. As far as their on the field antics go, I haven't followed anything Chad Johnson did during the pre-season. If he wants to have a strange haircut, cum last year, I certainly don't see anything wrong with that. Taunting another team, like Owens dancing on the Cowboy's Star when he was with the 49ers, probably won't help endear you to fans or the media. And Owens was mired in controversy in both San Francisco and Philadelphia after disputes and comments directed toward teamates, coaches, and management. After being suspended in Philadelphia, if memory serves, there were even questions as to whether any team would want to pick the guy up. But this was all controversy that Owens himself created. I'm not aware of similar episodes surrounding Chad Johnson. So no, I don't really see a double-standard.

of course there is no double standard...

Think about it. Name a media outlet, or even a NFL player what they think of Chad Johnson and they will say he is a showman, but he is a good natured person. He is just a funny guy.

As for TO. I dont have problems with his showmanship, but how he handled himself in San Fran and Philly made him look like a complete ass.

"Ocho Conco" NEVER disparaged a coach in the media or any of his teammates. Terrell Owens has made a career out of bashing his teammates and coaches.

See the difference?

No, but me Johnson DID start a fight at half time of the Bengals playoff game in 2005...in the locker room...with a coach.

He just gets a pass cause he comes off as a goofy guy in front of the camera.

He's also a "me first" guy who has stated that his goals coming into the league were to set records and get tot he pro bowl. NOW he wants a ring. Doesn't sound like a team guy to me.
