is tickling and laugher seen as the same thing?

I know when you think of one, we usually think of another. Is asking for one more "weird" than the other.
Asking to be tickled most likely be received as very strange (unless they are a TMF member).
But would just asking to be made to laugh get a different response? Since not everybody enjoy tickling, but I would thik nearly everybody enjoy laughter?

I wouldnt say theyre seen as the same, you dont go to a comedy show to get tickled, however you may walk away saying that the jokes tickled you, but thats just a saying 😛

Yes it would. Most people would start telling you jokes and not tickle you.

There are certainly people who enjoy listening to comedians but hate being tickled.

Asking someone to "cheer you up" may not go all the way to generating laughter. You would still feel better because of the efforts on your behalf. Knowing what kind of humor/jokes etc a given person enjoys is more than just a "cue funny tape" thing. The laughter from tickling versus the laughter from comedy would seem to be different "types". Of course not all ticklish people react to tickling with laughter.
