It Is A Cardinals/ Tigers World Series

HappyGilmore said:
The cards have been an underdog in every series this post season, there's no pressure on them at all to win I think thats why there doing so good this post season! Cards have there two aces comin up in game three and four, I think the mets offense will win game 5, kenny rogers will win game 6, and the cardinals will finally pull off there first world series win since '82 in detroit in game 7!
If we are lucky then we will only have to see the Tigers celebrate. The Cardinals last celebration included mocking the New York Mets fans and Jose Reyes. It would be fun to watch the Tigers celebrate on the Cardinals field like the Boston Red Sox did in 2004. 😀

Yeah that might be for the best, Im afraid for the cards safty if they start celebrating when they win in game 7 in that shit whole town

That isn't a very nice thing to say. Detroit is a pretty nice city. It is not a shit hole. I heard all that non-sense from being born and raised in New York. I guess all the people outside their of their little minded worlds think alike. 🙁

Speaking as one who has lived in this so called shit whole town his whole life, you have my pity. How pathetic your life must be that the only way you can feel good about yourself is by attacking us. I'll be the first to admit we have alot of problems here, but I'd like you to name one state that doesn't have problems. I guess I shouldn't be surprised it's always been easier to put people down and try make them feel like crap, than it is to build them up and make them feel good about themselves. What a sad tired world we live in!

Montana has no problems, theres one for ya! I was just trash talkin buddy nothin personal! St. louis is almost as big of a shit hole town as detroit!

Cardinals Lead Series 2 games to 1

The St.Louis Cardinals have moved one step closer to their first World Title since 1982 as they defeated the Detroit Tigers 5-0. This was Chris Carpenter's night as he went 8 innings giving up just 3 hits and no walks. He also had 6 strikeouts. The next game is tomorrow as Jeremy Bonderman pitches against Jeff Suppan.

With the help of a Fernando Rodney error and David Ekstein's 4 hits the Cardinals put the Tigers within one game of elimination with a 5-4 victory. But let's remember the history of these two teams. In 1934, the Tigers had a 3-1 lead over the Cardinals and then watched the Gashouse Gang comeback and beat the Tigers 4 games to 3. In 1968, it was the Cardinals who went up three games to one only to lose to Mickey Lolich and the Tigers 4 games to 3. So if history has anything to say about this series, then this is a long ways from being over. Cardinals play host to the Tigers tonight in game five. It will be Justin Verlander hoping to stave off elimination and Jeff Weaver going for the Cardinals in what they hope is the clincher. It is the Tigers and the Cardinals game 5 tonight.

I do apologize Bill. But I am running the Michigan Gathering this weekend. :bouncybou But tonight congratulations go out to the St.Louis Cardinals who defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-2 and win the World Series in five games. The game was on here at the gathering and there are an awful lot of disappointed Tigers fans. But when reflecting on the season as they eventually will, they will know they have a young gritty team who will be in the hunt for the next several years. As for the Cardinals, they got great pitching when they needed the great pitching and timely hitting. The Cardinals deserve their day in the sun. May they enjoy the fruits of their victory. The final score from St.Louis the World Champions 4- and the Detroit Tigers 2. Here it is in the boxscore:

OMG we won! Since everyone was all "The Tigers are going to win in blah blah blah games", this totally made watching postseason worth it. Congrats to Detroit, tho, it was a great series to watch both teams play.

Thanks, ticklingfeet4fun. Man, the way you said that about the Cardinals being world champs. I think I need a cigarette.... And I don`t even smoke. :shake: In all seriousness thanks. Its enjoyable talking baseball with someone who knows the game as well as you.

I want to congratulate the St Louis Cardinals, their fine manager Tony La Russa, and all the members of the team. Additionally, I also want to congratulate my good friend tickledorange, who I know is a big Cardinals fan. I know she is very happy right now about her team winning. Coming from someone who went through it with the Braves in 1995, seeing one's team win a championship is an amazing feeling.

Hahaha, its 8 am here in St. Louis and Im just gettin home! Ohhhh baby, Dream weaver got it done tonight, probably one of the most memorable moments of my life!!! Oh yeah and Tigers good series :blaugh:

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals, 2006 World Champions of baseball. :bouncybou

Now is the time for the Dodgers to get some more pitching for 2007. 😀
