IT'S BACK!!! The 2nd Annual TMF Football Pool (Week 1 - Sept. 9-13)
Finally! The long wait is over and the greatest sport in the world takes center stage. And, returning with it is the 2nd Anuual TMF Football Pool. For those of you who didn't play last year or are new, here's how it works:
Each week, I'll post all of the games that will be played. All you need to do is copy the matchups and paste it into a reply of your own. DO NOT start another thread with your picks, respond in this thread. The Pool is also for picks only, so please keep OT comments or other longer discussions about football for other threads. A few comments about the games you picked is fine, but this needs to stay on topic, as it's a lot of work to do this for the whole year.
After the week is finished, I will tally the results. The winner will be the player who picked the most games correctly. Ties will be broken by the "Monday Night Score" pick. When you make your pick for the Monday Night Game, you will also be asked to post what you think the TOTAL points scored in that game will be. That will be the tiebreaker.
Please note: Check the posts before yours to make sure that your score pick isn't the same as someone else's. Last year, I had to mail a lot of people to request they make another pick. To save time and energy this year, in the event of two people picking the same Monday Night Score, I will go with the player who posted it first.
Also note: In the event that the tiebreaker is evenly spaced (Total score was 40, you picked 38 and another player picked 42, the winner will be the closest WITHOUT going over.)
At the end of the COMPLETE season (playoffs included), the winner will be the player with the most weekly wins.
There WILL be a prize again this year, but I'm still in the process of arranging the what-nots and who-fors. I'm trying to arrange a first and second prize for this year, so bear with me and I'll post the details as soon as I have them.
Weekly results will normally be posted on Tuesday, but since I'm doing this around the rest of my life, there may be times where they're posted on Wednesday. Remember that you're picking for the entire week, as I'm not splitting up Thursday games or later Saturday games into separate threads.
You do not have to play every week. Anyone is able to play at any time they wish. More picks make your chances of winning that much greater, of course.
The entire thread for any given week will normally be closed by midnght the night before the first game. For example, this week we have a Thursday game, so I'm posting the thread early. Picks will close by midnight Wednesday.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and I'll get right back to you. Have fun and enjoy! It was a blast last year, and hopefully we can make it the same this year.
