It's our 38th!!!!!

Wedding anniversary today...I was lucky I married my best friend and he remains my best friend to this day and for always.

We had our fair share of ups and downs, losing babies, losing parents particularly mom in that awful way..and almost losing David four years ago when he needed open heart surgery to save his life.

But we made it and hopefully we will live to see more anniversaries..i am aware of the fact that most of you are younger than we have been married lol.

Last April we bought our tombstone with hummingbirds bordering, the date of our wedding, and the quote "Together on earth, together in Heaven"

At the end of the day he says coming home to me is the best part of his day. I can't say anything more than that to show that I am truly blessed with him.

Congratulations! I know that I would love to be able to celebrate my 30th year with my girlfriend (and future wife, hopefully!). That's beautiful.

It reminds me of this dance we did at the wedding of my one of my girlfriend's highschool friends. The DJ told us all to get on the dance floor, and played slow dance music. After about 30 seconds or so, she told everybody who has only been together for less than a year, to leave the dance floor... then after another 30 she told everybody who have only been together for a year...

This went on until the last couple on the dance floor had been together for 30+ years. The DJ then stopped the music, and after a round of applause, gave the couple the mic and asked them what the secret to their longevity was. It was a very inspiring experience, and I hoped that one day my girlfriend and I would be that couple.

Here's to another 38 years of happiness!

thanks all...just stopping in a bit before work...hubby has cataract surgery on Wednesday...sighs...I know I shouldn't be nervous but I can't help being reminded of his open heart surgery four years ago...although of course this is not nearly as drastic and intrusive yet it still brings back memories..since that surgery was the only surgery he had in all of our long married life.

Btw we tell each other several times a day that we love each other...every day when he goes to work he kisses me goodbye and says I'm the best...then I say no you're the best and on and on lol.

Ah, cataract surgery eh? My Mom and Dad just went through that this year. The procedure went by just fine so as long as you have a decent eye, ears, nose, and throat doctor I'm sure everything will be fine. 😀

Well our 39th has come and gone...David contracted pneumonia in late July and was very sick for a bit there...with his diabetes and his heart history (open heart surgery etc) it was scary but good old me nursed him back to health as always..
