Okay. UFC 90-something is this Saturday and I'll be busy watching Watchmen over and over again. Coupled with the fact that the main event is the only fight of relevence on the card, it's the only one I'm calling.

So!

QUINTON JACKSON vs. KEITH JARDINE

The winner of this fight may very well get Rashad Evans for the 205 belt, and both men deserve it. Jackson, upon revamping his training routine, may well have become the best at 205 in the world. It almost hurts saying that, but it's true. Jardine has had the hardest road to a title shot, ever. Griffin, Liddell, Wanderlei Silva, Vera and now Rampage. And he won three of those four fights. Both these guys deserve a shot at the crown.

Now, Rampage has the drive, power and standup ability to make this a short fight. Which is really bad for Jardine. Jardine's only two losses (Bonnar doesn't count. He won that fight.) came off of Houston Alexander and Wanderlei Silva. Both were brutal KO's in the first minute. Jardine needs to take some minor damage to get warmed up. It's a fatal flaw, especially if Jackson gets in and throws bombs early. If Jackson uses his wrestling and can climb on top of Jardine, it's all over.

Jardine does have a very unorthodox standup, which can throw lots of orthodox guys (like Rampage) off. Coupled with Jardine's use of leg kicks, which can damage Rampage's power. I know that doesn't sound like much, but what was Jackson's last loss? Forrest Griffin, who beat him using strategic standup and lots of leg kicks to counter Jackson's raw power. If he can counter the power and work technique to get inside on Jackson, he could pull off a decision, or even a TKO.

Jackson will win this if he can use his size and power to overwhelm Jardine, either standing or on the ground.

Jardine will win if he can weather the early strikes and out think Jackson.

Either way, Rashad Evans gets the winner and that fight will be GREAT!

My call: JACKSON by KO/TKO.

See you Saturday!

If Jardine beats Rampage, i prefer to see Evans defending his belt against Machida (who proved against Thiago Silva he can finish fights).
Furthermore, I don't like matchups between 2 guys from the same training camp.

I agree that two guys from the same camp can be a little odd, but Machida's still one fight off. He might be getting the winner of Liddell/Rua. But you're right. There's a title shot in the near future for Machida.

Im simply a one sided fan of quinton rampage jackson so once rampage gets that closed eyed falcon punch he got off on wanderlei, the fight will be over.

Hard to predict a fight with Jardine. He can be tooled by Houston Alexander (a B-level fighter), then he can upset Liddell.

And your winner by falcon punch Quinton Rampage Jackson!!!!😛
