Jacquline Carey and the "Kushiel " series

While perusing my local bookstore to search for some Terry Prattchet novels( sadly there were none in stock but I put a few on order) I came across a very intriguing book/series alled Kushiel's Dart bu Jacquline Carey. It seems to be a blend of fantasy/erotica that takes place in a Greco-Roman influenced Medieval world .

Wondering if anyone has read it and if so what did you think? I am only into it about 2 chapters and already hooked! It is sort of an ingenious blending of Anne Rice's "Beauty" erotica series and the fantasy novels of Modesett(sp) and Margaret Weiss

Nightfall and I enjoyed 'em quite a bit, and I wouldn't mention them in the same breath with Anne Rice's bumfodder; they're much better written, plotted, and characterized. The third book is rather weak, though.

In case anyone's curious: no, no tickling, outside of a very brief mention in the second book.
