Okay, Java is being really wierd. Anytime I try to run anything that uses Java (and I just updated mine) the web browser I was using closes automatically. The chatroom here, anything on yahoo, even the www.goarmy/com chatrooms wont work. HELP!
 
If this was a programming related question (Since Java's a programming language), I think I'd be able to help more. Oh well -- if I were you I'd use Disk Cleanup and empty your temporary internet folder. More often than not, that folder being too full can cause A LOT of inexplicable problems like this!
 
If the problems started after the update then it didn't update correctly. This is a common problem with microsoft Java. If you can try and uninstall the Java then download it again. Or you could try an alternative to Microsoft Java and try Sun Java.
