Jaws turns 50!!

My mom and dad decided to take my brother and I out for a movie night one night 50 years ago, I was 6, my brother was 5. My mom packed hot dogs in her oversized 70s purse and we all went to see the must see movie of the summer in 1975, Jaws. It was, after all rated PG, (PG-13 wasn't a rating until 1984).

Hard to believe it premiered today, June 20th, 50 years to the day!

The underwater night boat scene (Ben Gardner's head) and Quint's demise scenes so scarred me at age 6 that I couldn't watch either of those scenes for about 25 years. It wasn't until my son took an interest in watching the movie that I was able to watch those scenes. I realized they weren't as bad as I remembered, but hey I was 6.

Great movie. I had an uncle that watched Jaws repeatedly, and I got tired of it pretty quick. Many years removed now, and I have to say that its a really well done movie. (Just don't make me watch it 5 times a week)😉
