Well lets just hope he doesnt fuck himself over and do something to make the WWE regret giving him this push

This surprised the hell out of me when I read the results this morning. I knew WWE was going to give Hardy a shot with the title eventually, but I didn't expect Edge to drop the thing so quickly. Good for Jeff! I hope he manages to keep himself out of trouble and has a good run ahead of him.

I don't think he'll have anymore problems that would derail his career. He's used up all his lives. I think his last infraction was a fluke. I guess I'll have a reason to watch Smackdown more regularly now. I hope that this isn't their way of getting Jeff out of the way before Wrestlemania.

Meh. I don't get the whole Jeff Hardy thing...or Matt for that matter. They both look about as threatening as a wet fart.

The World Titles change hands way too much now. It just seems like being world champion doesn't mean as much as it used to and the wrestlers who held the belt aren't as special.

i prefer tht though id rather have someone hold it a few monthes and lose it as apposed to holding it for a year

Are you serious ? remember when John Cena held the belt hostage for nearly three years only dropping it for about 3 weeks , thats when people started to really boo him ? The belt is changing hands at the right pace , not to quick but the same person doesnt hold it hostage

Maybe you're right about the Cena reign but it just seems like everyone and their grandmother can claim that they were a former World Champ as to where it used to be reserved for the elite. CM Punk? Ugh!!! :bugeyed: My favorite period was when Chris Benoit was champ and Triple H was hounding him match after match and losing match after match until Summerslam when Triple H's young apprentice Randy Orton did what Triple H couldn't do at the time and beat Benoit clean setting up a feud between them. Plus that spinning diamond studded bling bling belt (do people still say bling bling? :illogical) is the most kiddie thing the WWE has done since those ice cream pops back in the '80s which always gave me diarrhea. :bugeyed:

Well, everyone has their opinion, but I like CM Punk and was happy when he was World Heavyweight Champion. As for Jeff Hardy, same deal. WWE cannot keep putting the belt on the usual suspects (Cena, HHH, Edge for example) and expect to turn the ratings around. Hardy may fail in the spotlight, but at least they're trying something different.

Edge, RVD and Rey all became first-time World champions in 2006. I think that CM Punk was the first new champ since then.

This is the only video footage I can find of Jeff's title win. All the others have been removed because of trademark violations.

Is it me or are the crowds way down at WWE events? Usually PPVs were packed in huge places!! Also who was the guy that Triple H was pinning with the Pedigree?

thanx for posting the video adam.. i watched armegeddon and i could still watch that all day.. its was awesome and unexpected...also a long time coming and well deserved
