Oh, I completely agree. As a huge Star Wars fan, I get sick of those outside of the hardcore fandom picking apart every little thing. IT'S A FREAKIN' MOVIE!!!! Relax, enjoy it.
I think that some of the younger generation have become spoiled by what can be done in movies these days, and don't know how a lot of us prayed for somebody to pull off a good Spiderman film. (Remember the stupid series from the '70's? Oh GAWD!!!)
Those are good points you brought up. I actually liked most of the things that you mentioned, the ones that "comic purists" hate. Spidey having the organic ability to make webs just makes sense, doesn't it? I always wondered why PP was the only one in the world who was smart enough to create such a formula and delivery device for those stupid shooters. (Not to mention the fact that as a broke, often-unemployed college student, he had a world of resources at his fingertips to make them.) But all things aside, I loved Spiderman, and suspended my disbelief. Why can't we do the same thing for movies?
Micheal Keaton as Batman worked perfectly for me. The whole point of Batman is that he's the one that didn't have super powers. He was just a regular guy, albiet a very rich one with a lot of toys. So why does someone like that have to be built like Arnold?
The makers of the X-Men films hit gold by not putting the actors in those ridiculous spandex outfits. The less-is-more look of thier costumes showed how much mutants were staying out of the public eye. I loved the inside joke from Cyclops to Wolverine: "What did you expect? Yellow spandex?" Classic. And come on, name me one person out there who thought that they screwed up by NOT putting Mystique in that white leotard? I think she looked just fine without it, or anything else for that matter.
I am really looking forward to the Fantastic Four movie. Alongside Spiderman, they were my favorite and I don't think you can ruin too much with that concept.
