Yep, it's right there. At least as I post this now.

According to that article, Jonathan Papelbon says he's open to joining the NY Yankees.

While that would certainly be an "interesting move"

It wouldn't cause the same stir as if, say, Billy Martin were still alive and still managing the Yankees.

or

If George M Steinbrenner were still alive.

Imagine Papelbon mixing with either Steinbrenner or Billy Martin.

It is hard to imagine that Papplebon is a highly sought after closer at this point. I could see him being a late inning set up guy perhaps, but his best days seem to be behind him

Remember when Red Sox fans thought he was the next Mo Rivera (I'm from near Boston but can't stand the sox)?...... Yeah.....not quite.

Now that NY has Aroldis Chapman, I saw where it's the first bullpen in history (with Betances and Miller, if they stay) to have three pitchers with 100+ strikeouts in relief the prior season. I wonder how long it will be until some team employs a specialist for not only the 7th, 8th and 9th innings as the Royals and others have done in recent years, but also the 6th. And... the 5th?
