I'm not sure if this should be placed here or in the general area,but here goes.I'm not looking for replies,but if you want to-feel free.Being a frequent visiter to the chatroom and reading and responding to alot of posts and threads,one thing is really starting to bug the hell out of me.It's becoming more and more frequent on here that some guys are just getting flat out nasty to some of the gals.If they don't want to pc in the chatroom,they must be a guy or gay.Hey gang,maybe they just want to talk in the lobby with everyone.If they don't want to meet after chatting for 10 minutes,they must be hideous..........or maybe they just want to be safe,now there's a thought.Why can't we welcome new gals or shy gals with open arms,without making them feel like they are just a piece of meat.Imagine a chatroom with no females in it.Or a tickle gathering with no ladies present.I can see it now,a bunch of guys sitting in a living room watching tv,eating cheato's,and scratching themselves.Doesn't that sound like fun,lol.? They are ladies and should be treated as such,don't ya think? If you can't be complimentive[oooohh,big word],then just don't say anything.Well,time to get off this soapbox because I appear to be crushing it,lol.Just a little food for thought folks.

Thats been one of my pet peeves for a long time to saurus.Sometimes its a wonder any ladies at all visit the chatroom.I hope some people see this thread and take the hint,but i'm not betting on it.

Don't spend much time in the chatroom (virtually none, really), but I second your remarks. Act like gentlemen, or you'll find it's tougher to find ladies to talk and or play with. People, please exercise common sense.

I hardly venture into the chatrroom myself. There is a severe lack of class and dignity within. Its only a fun place to be when the regulars are attending...even then you still get the creepy weirdos who obviously lack any sembalence of social mores and skills bugging everyone.

But preach on brother! I'm sure there are many males here who treat the women with the respect they deserve. Its just the loudmouth boorish louts in the chat ruining it for everyone there.

I think they dont like women because they dont like themselves.If all someone ever does is whine complain and or put themselves or others down,why are they suprised that no one wants to be around them or talk to them.

I'm in total agreement with the OP and those that believe in treating the women with respect, which means leave them the hell alone until you first cultivate some kind of discussion with them in the lobby.

Most everybody knows it's not cool to blind PC anybody without first asking in the main room. In my opinion this requirement is a step in the right direction, but I maintain that it's just as obnoxious and rude to ask somebody, "Hey, can I PC you?" within minutes of them entering the chatroom.

Another thing. If you ask for PC in the main room, and get a negative answer, move on. Don't start making comments or suggestions or asking why, or explaining why they really should PC with you. Just accept the rejection and move on. Anything you say to her from there on is just going to make you look like an asshole.

Still another thing. If you see one of the guys engaged in conversation with one of the ladies, for God's sake, give the guy a break and let him talk. You can contribute to whatever conversation is going on, but don't interrupt them with some new topic of conversation. That just makes you a cock block.

These jerks we're talking about don't just LOOK like assholes, they ARE assholes.
I know of at least two women who have gone back into lurking mode because of those total wastes of oxygen.
I would be shocked if any of these guys would pay any attention to what we're saying here.
They're the kind who are SO abysmally stupid that they think they're smart!
You know, the kind who say things like; "I'm not crazy. It's everyone else in the world who's insane!"
And they're NOT joking!

I don't know if this is technically do-able, but can the chatroom be re-engineered so that a mod has to admit a member after checking them out first? There could then be a policy in place that only known females are admitted automatically, with males being granted acess only if a female PMs a request to the mod or mods in charge asking them to admit that particular male to the chat room. If a guy admitted in that way misbehaves, the female who sponsored his admission would have the right to revoke it, as would the mods.

I know it sounds kind of harsh, but I can't imagine anything less working.
Besides, let's face it; if these guys behaved that way face to face in a RW coffee house or barroom, they'd either get a swift stilletto heel in the balls from one of the ladies or severly punched out by one of the guys. That's usually the only way that kind ever learn anything.

One problem there mastertank,is that there is not always a mod in the chatroom,unless they can observe without being seen.And from some of the things i have seen go on in there i doubt that.Perhaps more mods are needed for the room,i'm not even sure how many there are.

It ISN'T any wonder (to me) why there aren't more female members going into the chatroom....it's for much the same reason isabeau mentioned earlier.....they get feckin' BOMBARDED upon entry!!! I mean, Jesus Christ....I often wonder if the fellas that did this (and consistently) would do the same goddamn thing if a woman walked into the bar they happened to be in....could you imagine???

Thing is, tho........there are some women who welcome the boorish behavior and often encourage it. Then, when the assholes get a positive reaction, then they think "Oh goody! I'll bet ALL the females are like that in here!" So, the females who are actually encouraging this behavior and cybering or whatever with these guys,......they're giving us females who don't really like that a bad name.

I have tried the chat room and find that it moves too fast for me. I do think you are overwhelmed, especially when you are new. In all fairness though, I have found that some women can be as overbearing and rude as the worse man you ever met. Rude is rude, male or female. I was afraid I was the only one who felt this way.

It's better now than it was. Back in the old chat, the pcs were really invasive- you'd get some big, obnoxious pop up asking "r u tklish?" or "a/s/l?" And if your screen name was suggestive of a female identity, you'd get four or five of these pop ups within a good thirty seconds...rather than following the convo in the chat, you'd be working overtime on your 'x' button.

Today, you can just let the blue outlined rectangle in the applet just pass you by.

Today, I have idiots asking me these things with a pc invite, unsolicited, thinking I'm a female after seeing my flow of conversation for the past five or ten minutes, discussing what my wife cooked for dinner, or what she's crocheted as of late, or making jokes about my endurance of such maladies as Male Pattern Baldness, or other things. They're clods. Nothing more.
