I'm so excited! I'm an Army vet that was diagnosed with PTSD. It will be nice to actually choose the strain to tailor to certain conditions. Living in an illegal state you don't know what the hell you're getting. Most people just make shit up when they give it to you. "Oh yea bro its that Snicklefritz." Also excited about the idea of finally being able to try concentrates. They're just not available where I am. Either way love it or hate it, its nice that the people that do use it have the option to do so legally.

Anyway, New York does have medical marijuana (there's a dispensary not far from here). I've heard that they just make it ridiculously restrictive, like you have to be terminal or something. Hope I'm wrong about that. MJ has been proven to mitigate things like the side effects of cancer chemo.

My late brother, who seldom touched alcohol and had never used marijuana started smoking during his chemo and radiation treatments and it made a world of difference.
ISU, I hope you get some relief. Can't imagine what dealing with PTSD must be like. And to echo what everyone has said, yes, it's long past time to legalize marijuana for adult use.

Glad it helped your brother. Sorry that he apparently didn't make it (or did he pass from other causes?).
He had a rare type of brain tumor. Fought it for over three years until his passing in July 2000.

As for me..Yea I got diagnosed with PTSD from the Army. I did two separate one year deployments to Iraq. First time was 2004. We were the 2nd push into the country after the initial invasion. Occupied an area 25 miles south of Baghdad that was located in the bottom half of what was known as the "triangle of death" due to the numerous amounts of IEDS and ambushes that awaited you on the MSRs(Main service routes..the roads) So seen and did a lot of shit the first time. After a year at home I was off for another year. I was stationed at Fort Hood Texas, which happens to be the most deployed base in the United States due to the 4th Infantry Division and the 1st Cavalry Division having their homes there. I will say one thing though it was an absolute honor to be a part of 2 of the most historically epic and decorated Divisions the military has ever seen. My first unit(4th Infantry Division, 2nd Brigade, 8th Infantry Regiment, Echo Company)<---Say that 5 times fast---Was actually one of the very first units on the beach in Normandy during D-Day WW2. This was the unit I was with during my first deployment. My SECOND deployment my unit was transferred over into the 1st Cavalry Division..which is pretty historic and we did really cool shit at home. We had the Stetson hats with the spurs on the backs of our boots and what not, it was really cool to be a part of that kind of tradition. But when business came down to business we were sent to the Iran/Iraq Border to stop/prevent the transportation of weapons and explosives across the border. Shitty part about that was that there was no base for us to go to so we had to make our own. So that meant a year of sleeping in tents with no running water, no internet, or no anything pretty much.(Luckily I brought the first gen video ipod with me loaded with Realtickling and Magic Touch Videos I had purchased so I was set 😛) So yea without getting into details that all sucked. The great part about having access to medical is that you can actually pick the strain you want to tailor to actually what you need. Maybe you don't want to get super stoned but you want some high terp/CBD strains to relax and relieve anxiety. ORRR maybe you just want the highest possible THC quality strain in existence so you can blast off to the moon and listen to Primus.(Fuck yea) Either way it should be legal and probably will be in most states in 5-10 years. Either way I cant wait for my card to drop...Ive been supporting the Chicago Latin Kings with my money for too long now just to get the stuff that makes me feel better.

It's actual been happening a great deal in Broome / Cayuga counties here in NY (especially in Broome).
Dealers have been busted trying to sell highschool students in Endicott NY marijuana laced with heroine (so they can get them hooked on heroine).
My advice is to always go to a reputed medical cannabis dispensary (if you can find one though I believe there's one in Ithaca if I'm not mistaken).
Trust me when I say you do NOT WANT to RISK putting heroine in your system. That shit is fucking death.
Also, I'm glad you made it home safe and sound from Iraq. I'm unfit to serve but I have buddies who went over there and never made it back. Hope you enjoy new therapeutic meds and have an ice cream sundae on me. 😉
Shit that's rule number 1. If I care who prepares my food I should definitely care about who I'm getting somethin from that I put into my body. I feel extremely lucky marijuana was really all I cared to try. I'm reading all these articles about these OD epidemics hitting these small towns because dealers are buying Chinese Fentanyl off the Darknet Markets like Alphabay and Dream and cutting their heroin with it. So all the poor heroin users that don't have kits to test their stuff all the time are eyeballin out their dose and ODing cuz Fentanyl is ridiculous. Shits outta control man.
