Just Saw the Episode III Trailer...

Acording to the guy who has seen the first cut (that is if he really saw it) who reported on theforce.net, Anakin does turn into vader before he fights with Obi Wan. He also said that you see Palpatine turn into Siddeous right before your eyes, as a transformation, so I am assuming the eyes is not an effect for the preview and is actually what happens when someone turns to the dark side. We don't know what Anakins eyes looks like in Ep 4and 5 as he has a helmet on. When it is taken off at the end of 6, he has turned back to the good side before it is taken off, so his eyes may have looked like that up until he turned back again. We wont know anything until the thing comes out. But I highly doubt that Lucas would have put that shot in the preview just for effect. YOu don't see anything in the Prequel previews that doesn't show up in the actual film, so I am assuming that it is a shot from the actual film.

Yeah, I sort of thought thats why Darth Maul's eyes were like that, because he had completely given in to the dark side. I just said "effect" because I wanted to leave room to stand corrected if I was wrong, and when you put it this way, you're right.

This also makes sense for Palpatine, but in a different way. Maybe Palpatine has always had the ability to transform but has been intentionally keeping it from happening because it would obviously blow his cover and he'd be exposed, at least to the Jedi.

This idea makes sense since he slowly starts to transform in the films, and has aged badly because of his desire to keep the dark side from physical changing him.

Obviously by this episode he has nothing left to hide and so can complete the tranformation instantaniously.

Also, thats probably true about Anakin when you put it that way. We don't know what color his eyes were as Vader, but when he regained himself as Anakin Skywalker, the dark side had left him and so his eyes were blue. Wow, thanks for mentioning that. It makes perfect sense. I didn't look at it quite that way before.

What about Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannos? His eyes weren't firey. Perhaps because he never did fully give in to the dark side? Or maybe like Anakin, they were firey and they reverted back? But why would they? He was still serving evil, and Palpatine surely would have sensed the change and probably would have killed him. Unless Palpatine knew and didn't care as he would have another apprentice soon enough.

QUESTION to Dave or anyone who can answer it:

How exactly was the Sith Order supposed to resurface and perhaps ever overthrow or destroy the Jedi if theres only two? Granted, the current master and apprentice (Sidious and Vader) are perhaps the strongest Sith ever, but still, in the beginning, or rather, after Darth Bane came up with the " one master, one apprentice" law, how were the Sith, at THAT point supposed to ever take control or destroy the Jedi or get their "revenge"?

If only two can ever exist at any ONE time, then how are two supposed to overthrow the Jedi Order? Lets assume Sidious and Vader never were. From a strictly Force and militaristic point of view, how would it ever be possible?

Granted, the ways of the Sith are treacherous and they work in the shadows and have others work for them, but if they themselves are to take the stage in attempt to overthrow anything, how is that supposed to work?

In this case it works because the two existing Sith just so happen to be the strongest in history. But supposing it was not this way, how would the Sith be having their revenge? By just corrupting the system? Perhaps forcing the senate to disband the Jedi Order? Is that their revenge?

This movie is called "Revenge of the Sith" and what a revenge it is! But only because Sidious is the Supreme Chancellor, now Emperor, Vader is his apprentice, and there is now an entire military under this sith's control.

The point I'm trying to make is that Palpatine and Anakin are exceptions. How were any lesser sith, both in intellegence, cunning, and power supposed to pull this off or get their revenge? Are we to assume this is the only way it ever could have been done and that it was destiny that it happened this way?

EDIT:

Unless of course Bane intended them to work in pairs and thats what he meant. But the way Yoda speaks of them, it makes it sound like its law that only two Sith can exist at a time. But naturally how would that be? Couldn't anyone wanting to be Sith become one or existing Sith train more? If it works for the Jedi wouldn't it make sense for the Sith after they learned from their mistakes of the past in killing themselves in bloody feuds?

You know you are right about the Count Dooku/Darth Tyrannos. Maybe it was a screw up on Lucas' part that he will change when the ultimate edition DVD's come out. I know that there is a moratorium on TPM or AOTC DVD's. You can still buy them, but no more new stock is being made, so once they are sold out then they are out. And, also, Christopher Lee's son has said that his dad shot stuff while they where shooting his scenes for Revenge of the Sith that is to be added in THE PHANTOM MENACE: SPECIAL EDITION, whenever that comes out. Some people have said when Revenge of the Sith comes out on DVD, and some poeple say it will be on the HD DVD Ultimate Edtion.

The teaser looks simply awesome. If the movie holds true, then Star Wars would have redeemed itself from the fiasco that was AOTC
