(This one is a true story with a punchline added.)
A few years ago when I was still in college, I headed down to the train station one morning to get my train. Now the station was little more than a bench with a few signs indicating the station name, and a platform to stand on. On this line, the trains ran mostly on one track, with a few junctions so that other trains could pass. Anyway, back to the story.
While I was waiting for my train, I noticed some movement on the other side of the track, and I looked and thought I saw a cat, but it turned out to be a skunk! It was just rummaging around in the grass (there was some light forest on the other side of the track so maybe it was outside of its den looking for food?) and I was worried that it was going to come onto the platform. Fortunately, it didn't, and it left before the train arrived, which is a good thing, because if it did get on the train, odds are that everyone would raise a big stink about it!
(Cue the booing and tomatoes.)
OK, let me try another one.
My geography teacher had the bad habit of asking us questions that we knew by heart. I remember the time he asked me, "Do you know where Mississippi is?"
I responded, "Sure. She's with her husband, Mr. Sippi!"
(Even more tomatoes come flying. Then a hook comes on and pulls poor Larcen off the stage!)
