Hello, hope you're all ok.

I have been talking to this person on tinder for around a month. Today he asked me what my weaknesses were, so I said I'm extremely ticklish so I guess that would be one, then the other one would be pizza. All of a sudden, he's blocked me. This is the first time I've ever come close to outright saying I love being tickled, so I was just wondering if this was a normal occurrence or him being weird? Sorry

That's weird. To just out and block you? What the hell is wrong with people?

People are fucking weird online, that's why I never give anyone a second thought unless we've known each other a long while, have met in person, or at least talked on the phone about things with substance.

I honestly would forget the dude ever existed. Not worth getting worked up over a stranger.

I love pizza too!!!!
Screw that guy. You probably ruined his fantasy 😀

I could live on pizza! and I agree. screw him. there are plenty of lees and lers lurking out there just be patient. they will come..... All I can think is maybe he's a ticklephobe but even then he could have at least told you that and not just blocked you for no reason..

That's honestly really surprising. You didn't say anything that would lead to him blocking you, he must just be a weird dude. Sorry that happened to you.

He was probably hoping for something sexual and got butthurt that you didn't say what he wanted. Regardless, he sounds like a huuuuge red flag. :imouttahe

Definitely all him, not you. You didn't say anything that would make any sane person block you. You did nothing wrong.

Besides saying that it's a weakness doesn't even really say how you feel about it. It could be your weakness and you're hate it or it could be you're weakness and you love it. Blocking you is weird regardless.

Hiyah, welcome to the forum 🙂

yeah forget about this character - presuming the past month's dialogue has been fairly normal, it does seem odd- you could go on second-guessing for ages, but I would eliminate your love of tickling from the list of potential reasons.

He could have some sort of horrific and un-guessable past experience of pizza or tickling, but more likely he was probably just hoping the conversation would go in whatever direction he'd pre-determined in his mind (something like "my weakness is a guy who talks dirty to me")

When it didn't work out, he just took the easy route and blocked you - which is what a lot of people whose existence has mostly migrated online do when interaction with someone suddenly becomes a little challenging/embarrassing - 'blocking' people is now seen by many as an acceptable escape from all sorts of online communication, rather than actually practicing and developing social skills to deal with these situations.

I don't use Tinder so don't know how it works, but maybe he left himself logged in and his girlfriend found his messages!

Hmm sounds like you got a lucky escape to me, it's not like you actually came out and said you like being tickled
I agree i think he was hoping for your sexual weaknesses so he could fantasise about them while he got himself off
Better off without people like that, if they can't accept you for who you are that's their problem and their loss

I haven't used Tinder in forever, but if it's anything like other swipe n' match apps, the only way to remove someone from your match list after you've connected is to block them. It's always bothered me, because you may realize someone isn't right for you so you don't want to keep the match open, but blocking should only be reserved for harassers. Obviously, not everyone feels that way.

I don't get how anyone can come to the conclusion he was asking for sexual weaknesses to beat off to. Dunno why that's a default excuse for people here lol

Maybe he hates pizza

I don't understand. Who could hate pizza?

I would give this person exactly zero further thought. People like this who act strangely online are revealing what they're really like deep down, where they think there are no consequences for their actions.

Yeah, it could have nothing to do with him searching for spam fodder. He could've decided he didn't want to use the app anymore, could have preferred to block you rather than give a radon as to why he wanted to stop talking, he might've been dating someone and got caught using Tinder, he might've gotten busy, etc. Not saying the guy had an excuse for stopping his communication with you the way he did, just that there could be other reasons.

Well if what u told here is ALL that u said to him, whatever reason he had, YOU were definitely not at fault. So in essence... Congratz , you've prolly wound up dodging a "time wasting" doomed relationship of some sort. Don't stress on it...like u said...there's plenty more fish out there. 🙂

I agree with this. Calling ticklishness a "weakness" doesn't even come close to expressing a kink. He was probably wanting a porn-style response, and when you didn't give it, he moved on.

Going forward, I think you got it right. Saying you're "ticklish" is enough honesty for a Tinder text exchange. If the other person is into it, they'll respond in a way that it's quite obvious. No upside in putting yourself any more out there than that.

I wouldn't sweat it. If that causes such a negative reaction I'd imagine there's a lot of bad going on there. Besides, there are plenty of fish who'd love your tickling interests!
