A basketball battle for the ages. Two great powers clash in New Orleans for the prize. Kentucky is the greater program, and Kansas is about tradition. I lived in Kentucky and they are fierce about the Wildcats. Every kid in the neighborhood shot hoops. We were closer to Louisville, but in the rural areas, Blue was seen everywhere you turned.
Kentucky should win this game on paper, but Kansas should have been knocked out two weeks ago. Their defense has been superb and Bill Self has done an excellent job with the squad he has. It isn't the 2008 squad, but they been finding ways to shut down their opponents in the second half.
