Kate Nelligan in stocks?

Not sure to post this in cips or pics section. But I was in BlockBuster yesterday and I saw on the shelf the movie Eye of the Needle. Donald Sutherland played a german spy and Kate Nelligan was his lover or something. Anywho, when I saw her pic and name I remembered some years back that she did a film where she was in stocks or something and she was being given a hot foot from what I remember. Some kind of torture. Anybody know what I'm talking about? If so , anyone have a pic or clip from that scene?

I'm not sure. But the movie may be Eleni. She played a greek Mother trying to keep her children from the civil war or something. She was in jail for a while then excecuted. Might be it, seen no pics from the movie .

Syella you're quite right. The film was Eleni and starred both Kate Nelligan and John Malkovich. Malkovich, living as an adult in the USA, was trying to discover what had happened to his mother, Eleni, during the Greek civil war. The film has many lengthy flash backs to the past. It is during one of these where Eleni, having been arrested by the communists is tortured by being subjected to the bastinado. The scene is unhurried and quite graphic and the whole film worth watching.

Many thanks GrantSA. Bastinado. With something that graphic I must have seen it on a late night back in the early days of cable. I remember some great shots of her soles but just could'nt remember what was happening. Thanks again. 😛
