Kevin Garnett traded to the Celtics

Huge deal. Essentially 7 players for 1.

Celts will be the most improved team, without a doubt. I'm not ready to hand them the title yet though. Not even the Eastern Conference title..but they'll sure be there to compete for it, barring a catastrophic injury.

i will write about this later, but as an intro to my thoughts about this deal is this....

F*CK Danny Ainge (GM Boston Celtics)

F*CK Kevin Mchale (GM Minnesota T Wolves)

F*CK Mitch Kupchak (GM LA Lakers)

With Kevin Garnett on the East Coast, there is at least one more opportunity annually for him to play at MSG. It think it's time to circle home Knick dates with the Celtics.

Plus, I'm glad someone in the East is making a move. I do not want to see the Spurs keep dominating the Western conference nor do I want to see Kobe happy. But Cleveland is garbage, Detroit & Miami are both old, New Jersey is imprisoned by Vince Carter, & the Knicks are, well, the Knicks. Someone has to stand up to the west. I think the Celtics will get to the conference semifinals this year, then the nba finals the year after.

On paper it looks really good, and even being in Detroit I'd be glad to see Boston make a comeback. My question is though, who's their bench? Are these guys going to play 48 minutes a game? I think i'm in the minority here, but while this may get them back in the playoffs, I don't see this team doing very much. Typical east coast hype..

this trade definitely puts them in the top 4 of the east (with chicago, cleveland and detroit) but they are incredibly thin. they need rajon rondo to continue to improve from last year and to add a couple of veteran bench players in order to represent the east. however at the very least the celtics are relevant again.

I'm a huge Kevin Garnett-fan. He's never really had the opportunity to play w/players the caliber of Paul Pierce & Ray Allen. Heck , you can say the same thing about the other two ... so , yeah ... it should be interesting to see them feed off one another. Tckleguy & zepp3320 are right in questioning the strength Boston's depth , though.
