I hear ya , Prime, but to tell you the truth, I'm kinda conflicted about this....
I mean if Kobe's telling the truth, this is a pretty screwed up situation.....the fact of the matter is, the team now is pretty young and inexperienced....I mean, a near rookie Laker center (Bynum) was starting for some of the season due to injuries, and a true rookie point guard (Farmar) was a starter some of the time because Smush Parker played so horribly....Luke Walton, another starter, has only been in the league, what, 3 or 4 years?
Look at this roster, Prime...is this a "Laker" roster? Some of these guys wouldn't even ride the bench on other teams, but they are starting in a Laker uniform, the same uniform Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West, Kareem, Magic, Cooper and Worthy wore?
The fact of the matter is, Tony Parker, the Spurs MVP point guard , and other stellar players have been available within the Laker supposed "rebuilding" period after Shaq....... (the Spurs wanted to trade Tony Parker for Jason Kidd, but things didn't pan out), but Laker management have been sitting on their asses in their offices for the last 3 years, when a little creative trading could have built a pretty good quality contending team around Kobe. A number of NBA star players have stated publically that they would love to play with Kobe (who knows what their private feelings are) and Kobe has spoken privately to these players and found that the Lakers made no moves on these players, and Laker management gave bullshit excuses on why these players were not pursued.....
So I don't know Prime.... the Lakers have demonstrated no desire to put a quality product on the court the last couple of years...during trade talks 3 years ago,Laker owner Jerry Buss told Kobe that Shaq was going to be traded whether Kobe had re signed with the Lakers, or left to go with the Knicks or Clippers ....and this is the shitty team that the Lakers put on the Court...the only player worth anything that they got from the Shaq trade was All Star Caron Butler, who the idiot Laker management traded away...... why do the Lakers deserve my loyalty if there is no attempt to field a competetive team? Or if there was "master plan" to re build long term, why not tell Kobe back then, so Kobe could have left to become a Clipper or Chicago Bull 2 years ago, and the Lakers could have gone with their "rebuilding experiment adventure" in an empty ass Staples Center arena? (Remember the "Elden Campbell/ Nick Van Exel" Laker days, when the fake ass movie star Laker fans (except for Jack Nicholson, the only TRUE movie star Laker fan) stayed away from that boring team before Shaq and Kobe?.....
If the Lakers don't care what they throw out there on the basketball court, why should we care?
