Hey guys, we're all into tickling in some form or another but there's something I've been wondering my whole life.............does anybody know what "koochie koochie koo" means and why it is used as a tickling taunt? I have certain theories as of why it is but I am not 100% sure. If any of you guys have any ideas then I would appreciate whatever comments you have.

Possible origin of tickling taunt

Okay here's my two cents on the subject,

'Koochie Koochie Koo' is phonetically similar to 'Kitchy Kitchy Koo' and the German word for 'tickle' is 'kitzlen' and the German word for 'ticklish' is 'kitzlig'. Now what does this have to do with anything? English is very closely related to German, so my theory is that both tickling taunts have thier origins in the German root of the word 'kitzlig'.

Hope that helps.

P.S. check out post on international tickling taunts.
